Nestled beside a beautiful babbling brook surrounded by apple trees and the beauty of Inverness county, the Glenora Distillery is a special place to visit.
Cape Breton is known for many Scottish attributes, one of which is the world class whisky that it produces. Locating the distillery was based on a simple principle, finding the purest and cleanest water, a key dynamic in preparing the finest single malt whisky. 'Glen Breton' is North America's only Single Malt Whisky Distillery and has recently been awarded top honours in a series of recent international competitions.
Doug Davis, the Inn Manager, took us on a tour of the distillery showing us true Cape Breton hospitality along the way. We took in the storage warehouse for the whiskey barrels, the mash house, and the copper stills. The highlight however was getting to taste a few drams of this world class whisky at the end of the tour.

Liverpool Nova Scotia Canada 2017
This was the second Liverpool we have visited. The first being the home of The Beatles. Liverpool, Nova Scotia is also at the mouth of the Mersey River. During our visit, we explored the Fort Point Lighthouse Park. The lighthouse is situated in a tranquil setting that overlooks the Mersey River as it enters the Atlantic Ocean. The plaques in the park describe a very interesting history of the privateering that originated from this port. American ships were a favorite target. Music is “On My Way Home” by the 126ers.
