Middle Musquodoboit is a farming community in the Musquodoboit Valley region of the Halifax Regional Municipality, along the Musquodoboit River at the junction of Route 357 with Route 224, 78 kilometres from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The community's name comes from the First Nations' word Mooskoduboogwek, which means to suddenly widen out after a narrow entrance at a mouth. For a time after 1883, Middle Musquodoboit was called Laytonville, but at some point reverted to its former name.

Grand-Pré is a Canadian rural community in Kings County, Nova Scotia. Its French name translates to Great/Large Meadow and the community lies at the eastern edge of the Annapolis Valley several kilometres east of the town of Wolfville on a peninsula jutting into the Minas Basin surrounded by extensive dyked farm fields, framed by the Gaspereau and Cornwallis Rivers. The community was made famous by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem Evangeline and is today home to the Grand-Pré National Historic Site. On June 30, 2012, the Landscape of Grand-Pré was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Gaff Point Hiking Trail | Halifax | Bridgewater | Subtitles | Nova Scotia | Canada

In this video we are hiking Gaff Point Hiking Trail in Nova Scotia, Canada.

This trail is location about 1-1.5 hours from the main city of Halifax, near a town called Bridgewater (and Lunenburg) - which is close to Hirtles Beach, NS.

There is a lot of parking at this trail, as there is also a pebble beach here. Once you leave the parking lot and get into the beach, walk all the way down to the end of the beach where you can access the Gaff Point Trail.

The trail is 3.5 kms long round trip. In total from the parking lot its a 6.5 kms trail including the section of beach you need to walk along in order to get to the trail head.

This is a fairly easy hike, with little elevation gain. You are exposed to wind for the majority of the hike, so dress like you're on the ocean!

If you are looking to hike Nova Scotia, this should be one trail that is on your list. It is one of the better hiking Trails in Halifax and maybe on the of the best hikes in Nova Scotia with it's great ocean views!

Nova Scotia Highway 107 - Dartmouth to Jeddore

A drive from the Forest Hills Parkway intersection with Main Street and the Forest Hills Extension in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to Head of Jeddore. The Forest Hills Extension immediately to the left is part of Nova Scotia Highway 107 and connects Burnside to Cole Harbour via the Forest Hills Parkway on the right. From the beginning of this video to Exit 17, Main Street, Trunk 7, and Highway 107 share the same route. The video ends on West Jeddore Road, covering 38.9km. This video is sped up approximately 2.5x.

Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia - Admiral Lake

From the small community of Musquodoboit Harbour an impressive trail network has been developed by volunteers. The possibilities include a 14.5 km abandoned rail line, or a number of challenging wilderness hiking trails.
