San Telmo: The best barrio for Buenos Aires Accommodation
Visit us at
San Telmo has the best Buenos Aires accommodations and they're the best places to stay in Argentina if you're traveling on a budget. Cheap accommodations in San Telmo are not uncommon. Affordable hostels and hotels in San Telmo come in numbers, allowing you to stretch your travel budget and spend them on other things. But there are other reasons to stay in San Telmo besides affordable Buenos Aires accommodations.
Why Get San Telmo Accommodations?
For starters, San Telmo is the oldest barrio or neighborhood in the city. The barrio dates back to the 17th century when it was known as San Pedro Heights, a place where brickmakers and dockworkers of their time typically resided. San Telmo bore witness to the industrial era of Buenos Aires and became a site of the first warehouses, windmills, and brick kilns. Majority of the city's exports were stored in San Telmo throughout colonial times.
The barrio faced several challenges from past to present but it flourished nonetheless. The colonial era brought forward many of the top tourist attractions in San Telmo. Altogether, these historic attractions from the Spanish colonial period are one good reason to stay in San Telmo accommodations.
Apart from the historic charm of its colonial buildings, San Telmo is brought to life by its unique bohemian culture. It began when local artists moved to the neighborhood soon after immigrants left. Since then there was a growth in presence of art galleries in San Telmo. It didn't take long for nightlife to catch the hip vibe that embraced the neighborhood. Today, there are a number of pubs and bars in San Telmo where you can dance to Argentinian music and choose from a wide selection of beers and cocktail drinks including local mixtures.
There is no other barrio in the city that is as culture-rich and history-filled as San Telmo. This is another good reason why the best Buenos Aires accommodations are in San Telmo. The combination of history, culture, and nightlife make it a triple-threat compared to other neighborhoods in Buenos Aires as a destination and a place to stay.
Furthermore, San Telmo has a nice location. The barrio allows quick access to downtown Buenos Aires. Thus, you can reach to public transportation easily and explore the rest of the city without much fuss.
Types Of San Telmo Accommodations
Accommodations in San Telmo are not just limited to options like budget-friendly hostels and hotels. If you plan on staying in Buenos Aires for an extended period, another great option would be for you to rent cheap apartments in San Telmo. There are many apartments for rent in San Telmo and you will find that they have reasonable prices. You should get a furnished apartment for the best Buenos Aires accommodations.
More About San Telmo Accommodations
Not all accommodations in San Telmo are pleasant. Due to their location, some of them can be too noisy and rowdy especially at night. If you want a quiet place where you can sleep at night, avoid San Telmo hostels and apartments located near major streets, bars, and clubs. If you are a night person and want to experience the nightlife in San Telmo, these are the best places to stay. By daylight, the area will be quiet enough for you to catch some sleep until the next hangover. Most importantly, remember to choose a San Telmo accommodation based on your preference to have the best Buenos Aires accommodations.

Valles Pasiegos, Cantabria. Durmiendo en una cabaña de pastores
¡Hola disfrutones!
