From the distance, the Yunnan landscape looks like marbled swirls of green, brown, and blue.
It is only up close that you begin to appreciate the topography's massive scale.
Each one of the swirls is an earthen terrace, of human height, for growing rice.
These tens of thousands of rice terraces run up and down the hillsides of this southern Chinese province.
The ponds of water in each terrace change color depending on rice growth and local weather.
The Yunnan rice terraces are breathtaking at any time, but especially at sunset or sunrise.
Great place to travel in Guizhou: Congjiang County(从江县)
#enjoyguizhou Congjiang County(从江县) locates at the southeast of Guizhou. If you want to experience different cultures of ethnic minorities, then it’s definitely Congjiang, because here lives Miao, Dong, Zhuang, Yao and Shui minorities. Each of them holds their unique customs and cultures. Perhaps you can walk inside the Zhaoli Dong Vilalge(占里侗寨), observing their lifestyle, or walk along the Jiabang Terraced fields. If you get tired, then take a Yao medicated bath and drink a cup of oil-tea camellia to relax. Immense yourself into the ancient tribe, then staying at Basha Miao Village. Or listen to the lovely Kam Grand Choirs at Xiaohuang Dong Village. And finally don’t forget to experience the Tok Panjang, through the delicious food and Wei wine to sense their hospitality. Famous Dong Wind and Rain Bridge, China
The famous Wind and Rain Bridge in Chengyang is considered to be the most beautiful and best preserved bridge and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are 108 such structures in Sanjiang County but this one is the ultimate symbol of the Dong minority people.
Built in 1916, Wood and Rain Bridge spans the Linxi River and was constructed without nails of wood and stones.There are five tower-like kiosks on the bridge which are said to resemble the flapping wings of birds. Very gorgeous...
