Groningen: Groningen is a charming student city in the Northern Netherlands and the perfect base for visiting the Netherlands’ barrier islands.
Schiermonnikoog: Due to the influence of the tides and its location between the Wadden Sea and the North Sea, the island has a climate that is different from that of the mainland. Schiermonnikoog is characterized by diverse landscapes including beaches, dunes, forests, tidal marshes, lakes and tidal flats.
Amsterdam: Visit the world-famous 17th century capital of Holland. Go for a boat tour on the canals, and stroll through Vondelpark. Amsterdam’s oldest houses, are a national treasure. Many of these stunning examples of architecture, found around the city’s Canal Ring, date back to the Dutch Golden Age when a building tax was calculated by the width of a property’s façade.
Dokkum: You don't even have to close your eyes to feel like you've gone back a few centuries!
Burum: In this tiny town, you will find Windlust, a smock mill which was officially reopened in 2014 on Nationale Molendag - yes, the Dutch celebrate a National Mills Day.
Naarden: Naarden is an example of a Spanish star fort, complete with fortified walls and a moat.
Staverden: Staverden received its city rights in 1298 from the German King Rudolph but has never really become a true city. Staverden is officially the smallest city in the Netherlands.
The Hague: The Hague is the heart of Dutch politics where you will find beautiful museums filled with Dutch masterpieces. Visit the historic Binnenhof, or admire Vermeer's 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' at the Mauritshuis. Our favorites include Mesdag’s Panorama and Escher in het Paleis.
Madurodam: Visit Madurodam and discover all of Holland in a few hours. Ever since the opening in 1952 Madurodam has been one of the most iconic places in the Netherlands.
Muiderslot: The Muiderslot Castle is one of Holland’s most picturesque medieval castles.
Scheveningen: Let’s go to the beach! The Pier is one of the most notable icons in Scheveningen. Nearly 400 metres long and 45 metres high, it runs straight into the North Sea and offers a beautiful view of the village. *Video correction: the sun is setting over the North Sea (not the Atlantic!)*
Leiden: Leiden is a picturesque university city with many canals, ‘hofjes’ and museums. Leiden also has its own Hortus Botanicus, an impressive university garden filled with plants from around the world.
Rotterdam: Rotterdam is a city of many faces: a tough port city, a trendy modern city, and a hip artistic city. Check out the Maritime Museum when in Rotterdam to learn about Rotterdam’s role as a port city. Don’t miss a walk over the Erasmus Bridge. At its highest point, the Erasmus bridge is 139-meters tall. Known as the 'Erasmusbrug' in Dutch, the bridge has also been lovingly nicknamed The Swan (‘De Zwaan’) by locals due to the distinctive shape of that one, asymmetrical pylon.

The Netherlands are better known as Holland. It is a very small country. Most foreiners don’t know where to find it.
In this video we will show you where it is located.
Holland is surrounded by the countries Germany, Belgium, France and Great Britain.
Nearest capitals: London, Berlin, Paris and Brussels,
headquarters of The European Union.

Amsterdam, capital of The Netherlands, famous for its canals lined with 17th century houses.
Rotterdam, Europe’s largest port, and well known for its modern architecture.
The Hague, where the Dutch gouvernement has it’s residence, as well as the ’International Court of Justice’, located in ‘Het Vredespaleis’ which means ‘the Peace Palace’.
About the Dutch waters:
The Netherlands borders the North Sea.
In the north there are 5 inhabitant wadden islands.
The Wadden Sea is UNESCO world heritage.
Before 1927 there was a large sea in the middle of the country, the Zuiderzee. After the construction of a 30 kilometer barrier dam, the 'Afsluitdijk’, it became a freshwater lake. The name was changed to IJsselmeer.
Major rivers Rhine and Meuse flow through the Netherlands to the North Sea.
All this water together and the fact that the most of The Netherlands is below sea level, is a serious threat to the Dutch population.

Amsterdam Vlog - Our trip To The Netherlands
In December 2018 we travelled to Amsterdam with our friends to visit some friends for a pre Christmas party.
Some of the highlights were hiring a tandem, hitting up the Bols experience (mostly drinking cocktails) and an awesome night in foodhallen.

A 10 minuti da Rotterdam, Delft è famosa per le sue maioliche e per il pittore Vermeer, ma tra i suoi canali si nascondono (neanche troppo bene) degli edifici unici: la Oude Kerk con il suo campanile pendente, la Niuewe Kerk dalla forma slanciata e altri edifici molto tipici.

Exploring the North in the Netherlands
The Provinces of Groningen and Friesland in the Netherlands lay at the northern most coastline of the country, with ferries connecting to the Islands Ameland and Schiermonnikoog.
Quaint face bricked villages with cobblestone roads are speckled over the countryside. The Dutch use their favorite way of transport from one town to the other - their bicycles - mostly happily chatting away with their buddies on two rolling wheels. The girls are predominantly tall, strikingly beautiful with long hair flying in the wind.
Others move around with their boats through the narrow water channels. Draw bridges make way as they approach.
The Dutch enthusiasm for artful flower arrangements is visible at every window and even the smallest garden is blooming in full splendor. The sun tints the country side in the most vivid colors, so that even ordinary cornfields contrast beautifully with the blue sky.
Infinite are the bicycle roads on the Dykes, which invite long rides with an unobstructed view to the Wadden Sea. One day the weather is peaceful, the next day it will change and show a harsh face.

West Frisian Islands points of interest
The West Frisian Islands (Waddeneilanden or Waadeilannen) are a chain of islands in the North Sea off the Dutch coast, along the edge of the Wadden Sea. From west to east the islands are: Noorderhaaks, Texel, Vlieland, Richel, Griend, Terschelling, Ameland, Rif, Engelsmanplaat, Schiermonnikoog, Simonszand, Rottumerplaat, Rottumeroog, and Zuiderduintjes.
