Talarn is a municipality in the comarca of the Pallars Jussà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the centre of the Tremp basin, on the Noguera Pallaresa river below the Sant Antoni reservoir. It is the site of a hydroelectric power station and of a training school of the Spanish army . The town is served by the C-147 road between Tremp and La Pobla de Segur. Talarn was originated on a hill around the former castle. It was an important fortified place and the chief town of the area of Pallars in 1453. Torla-Ordesa is a municipality in the province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain. It is in the northwest of the Sobrarbe region, 100 km from the capital of Huesa, and had 315 inhabitants according to the 2004 census . Torla is in the glacial valley of the River Ara, after the confluence of the valleys of Bujaruelo and Ordesa, assuming that the glacier tongue reached Asin Broto, with more than 30 km in total. Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park , is one of the fourteen Spanish national parks, and the only one located in Catalonia. A wild mountain region in the Pyrenees, with peaks rising to 3017 m and with nearly 200 lakes, many of them of glacial origin, the park comprises a core area of 141 km2 and a buffer zone of 267 km2 surrounding the park.
