Our visit Rio De Janeiro travel guide documentary, before the Olympics of 2016, covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (best restaurants and street food), top museums and Rio at night. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities you won't find in a typical Rio De Janeiro tourism brochure or Rio De Janeiro, Brasil city tour.
25 Things to do in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Travel Guide and Top Attractions Transcript:
First up, we started with the city’s most iconic sight: Christ Redeemer. We boarded the train as soon as the station opened and made our way to the top of Corcovado Mountain. Sometimes the statue can be shielded by fog, but we lucked out with beautiful blue skies and panoramic views of the city as far as the eye could see.
For a bit of colour, we headed over to the Selaron Steps, which is a tiled staircase created by Chilean artist, Jorge Selarón. Initially Selaron would scavenge construction sites looking for tiles, but in later years as his work gained notoriety, travellers began donating tiles.
Since we chose to stay in the neighbourhood of Ipanema, we ended up spending quite a bit of time at Ipanema Beach. We noticed that this beach was really popular for beach football, volleyball, and surfing. And of course, what makes this beach so iconic are its two mountains, known as Dois Irmãos. If you come here on a clear day, you can catch a killer sunset.
No visit to Rio de Janeiro would be complete without heading up Sugarloaf Mountain, so when the skies finally cleared that’s exactly what we did. We paid for our tickets and boarded the cable car for a somewhat unnerving ride up. If you’re scared of heights, this probably isn’t the attraction for you, however, if you manage to make it to the top you get some really cool panoramic views of Rio.
Copacabana Beach is the most famed beach in all of Rio de Janeiro and if you were to visit on a weekend during the summer months you’d find that the place is packed beyond belief. We happened to be here in winter so things were a lot more relaxed, but that didn’t stop visitors from braving the waters.
We did a favela tour to Babilônia and Chapéu Mangueira. On our tour we saw lots of street art, learned about life inside a favela.
And that is a wrap! We hope this video will give you guys some ideas of things to do in Rio de Janeiro on your visit, and for those travellers who have already been there, feel free to add your suggestion of cool activities and attractions in the comments below.

Brigadeiro: Brazilian desserts at Confeitaria Colombo in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil:
So it has been pouring rain in Rio de Janeiro ever since we got here and we haven't been able to do a whole lot of sightseeing out in the city.
Today we have come to Confeitaria Colombo and this place is considered one of the ten most beautiful cafes in the whole world. And if you just take a look around me it is kind of like a French Belapox style with Art Nouveau. They have these huge mirrors that came all of the way from Belgium and it just feels like you've traveled back in time here. Also, they've had a lot of really distinguished guests. Like Kings, Queens, Presidents. Yeah. So I feel pretty special sitting here. Queen Elizabeth has come here and apparently almost all of the Brazilian presidents have frequented at some point in time. A popular spot.
So what? Mint. You chose mint? I chose mint. I'm all about the green tea. That is perfect because we're having so much chocolate the mint will go very well with that. Need to digest it. Just melt it.
So this video is going to be all about a popular Brazilian dessert known as Brigadeiro.
And this is the classic form right here. So I was asking our waiter about it and he basically said it is milk and chocolate kind of like cooked over a very very low heat and then you let it cool down and harden. And then you basically scoop it up with a spoon, make it into little balls and then you roll it in chocolate sprinkles. You can see over here. So that looks super decadent to me. So friends this is for chocolate lovers.
Oh, yes. So I'm going to dig right in.
Oh, look at that. It is almost like a thick fudge. Like I don't know if you can see the detail here. How I pulled it out but it is so so thick. Man.
Wow. Decadent? Oh my gosh. It's almost like peanut butter, like that same texture, but it is all chocolate. I can see why they give you very small amounts of it. Because it just like you really need to chew it slowly and savor it. It is so good. Is it really sweet too? Hahahaha. It is good stuff.
So it is now Sam's turn to have his first bite of Brigadeiro. Yes, and I am so excited to try this. Like I've hardly had any kind of Brazilian food in my life before, so everything that we're eating is new in these food videos is completely new.
So aside from the chocolate one we also ordered a Brigadeiro made out of coffee. So this looks a little bit different. Yeah, so I've already cut it up here and it has a totally different consistency. The chocolate one is a bit more like kind of like peanut butter like a spread. Yeah, it is smoother. Yeah but this one hear is crumbly. Ooh. Let's have a taste of that.
So aside from ordering Brigadeiro we also got Brigadeiro cake. So if you take a look here this is kind of like a chocolate cake with three layers. That is three layers of cake right there.
And we've got the Brigadeiro cream kind of spread in between. And the chocolate sprinkles on the side. Can't forget the sprinkles.
That is like a very fluffy yet moist chocolate cake. And the Brigadeiro spread is also a lot creamier. It is not so thick. So yeah, that is a really nice combination. So like pretty much best chocolate cake ever? Yeah.
So I would say we're leaving this place beyond satisfied. We couldn't even finish the chocolate cake. I know. Defeated by the chocolate cake.
So let's talk about price point for this meal. It was actually pretty good, right?
It came to 46 Reals which is about roughly 13 US dollars. So yeah, that was decent. We got three desserts. Three different desserts and we also got tea as well. Tea for two. So not bad at all. So definitely recommend coming here. I mean you're going to come here for the decor and the awesome environment but you're going to leave really satisfied by the taste of the desserts as well too.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil: Cost of Living 4K
Even with all the non-stop travel, our Passport Heavy crew never found ourselves in Rio De Janeiro Brazil…until now. And what an experience it was! A city bursting at the seams with culture, food, dope views, beautiful people, amazing beaches, plenty of activities and deep history, Rio De Janeiro sure is a city worth experiencing.
We were naturally on edge after hearing all the stories of how dangerous parts of Rio De Janeiro are, but similarly to Chicago or New York, the danger is a bit overhyped. There may be dangerous parts in the city, but believing the city is dangerous takes away from all the other amazing experiences in the city.
We had an incredible time in the city, and would like to thank the city of Rio De Janeiro for having us, and letting us experience Brazil. Enjoy this Passport Heavy Cost of Living guide to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Made in Brazil?
Where are our clothes made? Get the inside look at the largest textile factory in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Seeing this process was very interesting. This woman owned factory makes close to 10,000 pieces a day. I love seeing how things work in Brazil. The workers were happy and skilled. We believe buying local is best for the economy. Big Jump needed custom work uniforms and we came to the right place. I loved getting the inside look at Brazilian manufacturing and buying local. Video 73

Bonito - Brazil - beautiful nature
In the southwest of Brazil, not far from the border with Paraguay, Bonito is located in a beautiful natural landscape. Bonito is the starting point to the near sights. Who plans a visit of the Pantanal, should not miss the trip to Bonito.
The Gruta do Lago Azul, the Cave of the Blue Lake, is a popular tourist destination. It goes down over serpentine steps to a beautiful landscape of bright cave formations and deep blue water.
The main attractions of Bonito are the nearby rivers. Crystal clear filtered water, which is pressed through limestone formations, comes to the surface. A limited number of tourists can daily drift in this fish-rich rivers. An unforgettable experience.
