I need to apologize ahead of time! I did NOT have enough time in this city! It was a late work day but I still wanted to go out and show you that traveling can still be done!! So here is my trip with only have 2.5 hours in total to make it happen! I will most definitely come back to this city and make a more in depth video!

Hoensbroek Castle
Hoensbroek Castle or Gebrook Castle is one of the largest castles in the Netherlands. It is situated in Hoensbroek, a town in the province of Limburg. This imposing watercastle is known as 'the most lordly stronghold between Rhine and Meuse'. The oldest part of the castle, notably the tall round tower, dates from around 1360, when it was built by Herman Hoen, though a predecessor to the castle had already existed in the swamp (or Gebrook) the castle was located in.

Valkenburg railway station is the oldest surviving station in the Netherlands. In the beginning of the 20th century, well-known Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers lived in Valkenburg for several years. He helped develop tourism by designing a hotel, an open-air theater and a copy of the catacombs of Rome.

From the Valkenburg Parkhotel to the famous Valkenburg Castle ,this is a beautiful little Village with lots of Great Bars & Cafes with Plenty of Quality Hotels and B&Bs ,The Castle is full of History and Ancient Caves Systems hundreds of years old ,Be Sure to do one of the tours ,but check to see if they have a guide in your language.
For Best Views in Valkenburg ,take the Cable Cars to the Top of the Castle were you can have a wonderful Coffee or Chilled Beers .
In the year 1115, fortifications were erected at the site by Gosewijn I, Lord of Valkenburg. This original wooden keep survived until 1122 when it was destroyed under siege by Henry V, Holy Roman Emperor. The castle was rebuilt in the following centuries but was again destroyed in a siege, this time by Jan III, Duke of Brabant. The current ruins are those of the castle rebuilt in the 14th century.
The castle was blown up during the Franco-Dutch War, in 1672, by the army of King-Stadtholder Willem III to prevent it falling into French hands.
