Welcome to Lleida, one of the less well-known Spanish regions, where you can find charming villages, beautiful landscapes, excellent wineries, unique cuisine, young wines, high cuisine, old wines, traditional dishes, white wine, red wine, rosé wine, vegetables, meat, fish, verdejo wine, sparkling wine, desserts, savory food…
The Monastery of Santa Maria de Vallbona, a hidden gem for many. The most interesting thing about this Monastary is its cloister, which has an interesting story because it took four centuries to be built. because of budget problems. Every 100 years they built one side of the cathedral, so here you have a 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th century cloister.
But if you're looking for amazing cloisters, you have to visit the Lleida Cathedral. Built at the end of the 13th century, it's outstanding for its exceptional size. At almost 50 meters long and 9 meters wide on each side, the Lleida Cathedral cloister is one of the largest in the world.

University and Historic Precinct of Alcala de Henares - UNESCO World Heritage Site
A tour of the UNESCO World Heritage site university and historic precinct of Alcala de Henares, just east of Madrid in central Spain. It's a beautiful planned university city, along with an engaging old town. But what I really enjoyed were the fascinating stories embedded in the town, like that of Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote.
