Yadgir Fort, Karnataka
Yadgir was once known as Yetagiri, and was ruled by the Kalyana Chalukyas, Yadavas, Cholas, Bahmani Sultans, Adil Shahis and the Nizams. Yadagir is one of the largest forts of Karnataka. The fort was built by the Kalyana Chalukyas. Later, it was strengthened by the Yadava rulers. The inscription located on the fort’s entrance (Northeast) says the fort was built by Sagar Jagannath. Yadgir fort has a mix of influences of architectural styles. It is full of historical monuments and the majestic fort with three rounds of fortifications, three ancient temples (Bhuvaneshwari Devi/Bhavani temple, Ramalingeshwara Shiva temple, Teerthankara/Jain cave), medieval mosque, Twin step wells and Water tanks on a hill are worth exploring.

Mysore (or Mysuru), a city in India's southwestern Karnataka state, was the capital of the Kingdom of Mysore from 1399 to 1947. Sri Gavi Siddeshwara-Chintanahalli Falls In Yadagiri
Gavi Siddalingeshwara temple is at Chintanahalli in Yadgir district of Karnataka. In this temple, the lord resides in a cave with natural spring water flowing over the temple. To reach Gavi Siddheswara temple, one has to travel in a hilly terrain with lots of curves and bends. Visiting the temple in monsoon might be risky as the rocks tend to get slippery.
Near Kandkoor there is a place ‘Chintanalli’ famous for the temple of lord ‘Gavi Siddeshwara’ where the lord resides in a cave with natural water flowing over the temple and falling at the entrance and thus making every devotee to have a shower before having lord's blessings.
To reach Gavi Siddhlingeshawara Temple(Chinthanalli) we have to take diversion before Gurmitkal. Chinthanalli is about 30 Km away from Yadgir.

Shahapur is a city and taluka headquarter located in the Indian state of Karnataka. Shahapur is 597 km north of Bangalore and well connected by road to Gulbarga 70 km, Hyderabad 210 km, Bidar160km and Yadgir 32 km.
Geography
Shahapur is located at 16.7°N 76.83°E. It has an average elevation of 428 metres (1404 feet). when you search the karnataka physical map you will see in yadgir district map the hills mentioned by the name SHAHAPUR HILLS these hills spread along shahapur to surpur taluks.
Demographics
As per 2011 Indian census, Shahapur had a population of 57,129. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Shahapur has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 65.38% and also lower than the state literacy which is 67%: shahapur male literacy is 61%, and female literacy is 43%. In Shahapur, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Shahapur is famous for Chara Basaveshwara Temple, which is surrounded by hills in all directions. Its annual function called Jatre is celebrated every year in April. Thousands of people gather for this special event. They believe that Charabasava will provide health, wealth and prosperity to whole family. The main attraction of this occasion is bullock festival, thousands of bullocks from different parts of surrounding districts gather here for trade, which used to take place for nearly 10 days. By the side of Charabasava Temple A Large Fort is there. which had seven gates to enter. Within the fort 7 cannons are still present in good condition. As per the historians the construction period of this fort was between 950 AD to 1100 AD. Till the attack of Aurangazebs General Afzal Khan we don't know the pre history of this fort. Mandakini Lake is situated within the fort and the Lotus Lake or the Tavare keri Beside the Fort surrounded by hills.
According to mythology Sagar (ಸಗರ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ ) Chakravarti was grand father of Bhagiratha (ಭಗೀರಥ)who brought river goddess Ganga to earth for cleaning his ancestor's sins. Mandakini was the result of Sagar king's tapasya. Thus the name Sagara Nadu.

An Evening at Shahapur Fort - Karnataka
Shahapur Fort (built in 950-1150 A.D.) which has seven gates to enter from east and west of Fort. Shahapur Fort is divided into two parts...Eastern and Western Fort. Both forts are built on separate rocky mountains with adjoining walls. Siddalingeshwara Temple and Hajrat Syed Salar Masood Guazi Dargah can also be seen at western route of fort. At the western side base, there is Hathi Baoli (Elephant Tank).
Eastern Fort has many constructions like entrance gates, turrets, mosque, prison and military structures. Most of them are in bad condition.
On Western Fort, only ancient Hanuman Temple and Mandakini Lake are worth seeing. The Tavare kere ( Lotus Lake) beside the Fort is surrounded by hills.
Shahapur fort is one of the largest fort of Karnataka. Unfortunately the fortification and structures on fort are in bad condition. It needs to be protected and preserved.
