Deschutes River Trail - South Canyon Reach - Bend, Oregon Hiking Trail.
We hiked the Bend river trail, and what a fantastic little hike it is! We've been hiking this trail for years, and both of our kids have done it several times, but it's always as beautiful as the first time. The South Canyon Reach section starts in the Old Mill District (we started at Farewell Bend Park and the Bill Healy bridge) and goes about 1.5 miles back to the footbridge. After that you follow the other side of the river for another 1.7 miles back to where you started. It's a great loop trail, and right in the middle of town. It can get a little crowded on nice days and weekends, so parking can be an issue. You can start the trail from several places, check local/online maps to find which works best for you.

The Deschutes River Trail in Bend, Oregon - Adventure Guru
This nearly 4-mile loop is my favorite lunch break walk that I pick up from Old Mill in Bend, Oregon. My favorite access is from River Bend Park, but in the summer it gets super busy due to the boat launch and floaters.
ADA: the trail is a single track with bikes allowed on one side. It has numerous peek-a-boo roots/rock. About 3 steep sections

Hike to Cline Falls along the Deschutes River just West of Redmond, Oregon.
The hike starts in the park where there is plenty of parking and lovely picnic areas. We will definitely go back with our picnic supplies and enjoy the park. But today we wanted to hike. The trail along the Deschutes River begins from the north end of the parking lot and winds under the Highway 126 bridge.

In this video we go one mile deep into a cave called Lava River Cave. We are Exploring Bend Oregon. This cave is just south of Bend, at the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. A must do family hike in Bend, Oregon.
