Homeikan (Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan) -Traditional Japanese Inn
Welcome to Homeikan. Located near Tokyo University and Tokyo Dome in a quiet part of the city, this Traditional Ryokan (see definition of ryokan styles below) has two buildings: a Honkan and a Bekkan.
Originally a private residence, Homeikan has a history of 100 years and, as a result it is a little run down; however, it has a lot of character and atmosphere and there is also a beautiful Japanese garden at the Bekkan. Homeikan is a traditional ryokan and none of the Japanese-style guest rooms have private baths or toilets.
There are 3 shared baths here and the baths are open 24 hours a day. Homeikan does not have a curfew so guests are free to enjoy the Tokyo nightlife.
Check-in time is after 15:00 but all guests must check in by 22:00 (10:00 pm) - no exceptions.
If you arrive after 22:00 Homekan will be closed, your reservation will be cancelled, and you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. Check-out time is before 10:00 am.

A long walk through Tokyo's Koto ward.
I shot this footage just over a year ago but before I could edit it, my head injury happened. Then as life continued through my long recovery and into my new job, I ended up just never getting around to cutting it together... till now.
So join me on a long walk through an unremarkable part of an unremarkable ward in the world's most populous city that no other YouTuber would bother going to.

Bunkyō From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bunkyō (文京区 Bunkyō-ku?) is a special ward located in Tokyo Metropolis, Japan. Situated in the middle of the ward area, Bunkyō is a residential and educational center. Beginning in the Meiji period, literati like Natsume Sōseki, as well as scholars and politicians have lived there. Bunkyō is home to the Tokyo Dome, judo's Kodokan, and the University of Tokyo (Hongo Campus). In English, it is called Bunkyō City.
Bunkyō has a sister-city relationship with Kaiserslautern in the Rhineland-Palatinate of Germany.[1]
As of March 1, 2012, the ward has a population of 193,091 (including about 6,500 foreign residents), with 104,189 households and a population density of 17,072.59 persons per km². The total area is 11.31 km².
The ward was founded on March 15, 1947.

Cherry (Sakura) Blossoms in Tokyo
As winter drags on, it begins to seem that the dark and cold days will never end. In Japan, when the plum trees blossom, it is an early promise of warmer weather ahead. This promise is fulfilled when the cherry trees—sakura—burst into flower. People head outdoors to enjoy the breathtaking sight of entire stretches of road and expanses of park and riverside dyed pink and white. The blossoms reach their peak and then just as quickly flutter to earth, creating a swirling rain of springtime color and ushering in the warmth of spring.
In Tokyo, which declared the cherry season open as of March 22, some of the best places for cherry blossom viewing—hanami, in Japanese—are in Ueno Park (although this tends to be crowded), at Chidori-ga-fuchi, in Sumida Park (as shown in the above video, showing scenes from the cherry season in 2016), and near Edogawa Park just down the hill from the St. Mary Cathedral in Bunkyo Ward. Some people also enjoy visiting the Somei Cemetery, which lies just beside the place where the popular Somei Yoshino variety of cherry trees was first developed.
But other places in Japan are famous for cherry blossoms, too. Yoshino, near Nara, has been immortalized by poets for a thousand years. Many of the poems of Saigyo sing of the beauty of Yoshino’s cherry blossoms. Yoshino is so famous that it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Matsuyama, on Shikoku Island, is also a good cherry-viewing city, as is Sendai in the Tohoku Region and Sapporo on the northern island of Hokkaido.
To view the cherry blossoms is not just to undertake an aesthetic or botanic investigation. Indeed, the very fleetingness of the cherry blossom season has often been associated by the Japanese people with the fragility of happiness and of life itself. There is a poignant sadness in the beauty of the cherry blossoms falling. Why not welcome the arrival of spring in grand fashion and learn more about life in Japan by joining some Japanese friends under the boughs of a cherry tree?

Higo-Hosokawa Shin-Edogawa Garden
Shin-Edogawa Garden is a Japanese garden located near the Kanda River in Bunkyō, Tokyo. The name means New Edo River Garden. The reason is that the Kanda River around the place was called Edo River until 1965.

JAPANTRIP「六義園 Rikugien Gardens」Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo 東京都文京区
These gardens were constructed by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu on land given to him in 1695 by Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, the fifth shogun. Yoshiyasu spent seven years constructing a garden with paths around artificial hills and a pond. As the land was part of the flat Musashino region, when building the gardens he had to dig a pond, create hills, and bring in water from the Senkawa water supply to fill the pond.
