The Spartans have shared the stadium with the San Jose Giants, the SF Giants minor league affiliate for the past several seasons. That will end when SJSU completes construction of its new stadium in 2019
Municipal Stadium was built in 1940 and the facility shows its age. But the field itself is perfect and holds a lot of history as the home to many MLB players coming through as they moved up to the Big Leagues.

The local high school baseball divisions also use Municipal Stadium as their championship field. The stadium also hosts concerts, weddings, car shows and many other community events. In the past Muni Stadium has been the home field for the San Jose Owls, San Jose Red Sox, San Jose Jo Sox, San Jose Pirates, San Jose Missions, San Jose Bees, and the San Jose Expos.
