Palm Springs Living: What is the Cost of Living in Palm Springs? // Palm Springs Real Estate
Palm Springs Living: What is the Cost of Living in Palm Springs? // Palm Springs Real Estate
When someone says Palm Springs, most people instantly think of the wealthy and how many zeros you need in your bank account to afford living there. So, is that true? In this episode of Time Out I wanted to do a little breakdown of the costs to live in Palm Springs so we can make an accurate assessment.
Palm Springs Living: What is the Cost of Living in Palm Springs? // Palm Springs Real Estate
First things first, Palm Springs is in Southern California, so in general, the prices of everything are higher than normal. The cost of Palm Springs in particular though is 22% higher than the national average. This percentage is based on a number of different factors such as housing, medical costs, grocery costs, and utility costs. These are all things to think about when you are deciding where you want to live and what your budget is. Let’s break each of those down.
Palm Springs Living: What is the Cost of Living in Palm Springs? // Palm Springs Real Estate
Although Palm Springs has the legacy of being one of the most expensive places to live, it is actually less expensive than a lot of its surrounding communities. The average household cost is $440,000 as of December 2019. This ranks them as 46% higher than the national housing average in the United States. The average rent each month is $2,500. Looking at these numbers you can see that housing is quite expensive in Palm Springs, but you get what you pay for.
Palm Springs Living: What is the Cost of Living in Palm Springs? // Palm Springs Real Estate
Now for utilities. The utility prices are 7% higher in Palm Springs and average $200 a month, but in the summer, Palm Springs gets boiling hot, which typically results in using more air conditioning which in turn leads to a higher utility bill. This is comparable to living in a place like Vermont. They have long cold winters which means higher heating bills.
Palm Springs Living: What is the Cost of Living in Palm Springs? // Palm Springs Real Estate
Groceries are 17% higher than the national average here in Palm Springs. Your average gallon of milk is around $2.98 here to give you an idea. This always depends on what grocery store you are shopping at and of course what you are shopping for.
Palm Springs Living: What is the Cost of Living in Palm Springs? // Palm Springs Real Estate
Health care though, is where Palm Springs really shines. They are widely known for their great quality care and relatively cheap health care facilities. With three major hospitals in the area which include a lot of specialty clinics, it is 3% lower than the national average in price. They aren’t lacking in quality either! Their quality rating is always higher than the national average in this health conscious area that boasts life extension practices and celebrity doctors.
Palm Springs Living: What is the Cost of Living in Palm Springs? // Palm Springs Real Estate
Lastly, although they have great bus transportation in the area, you are still going to want to have a vehicle. Gas is more expensive in California as a whole due to its gas emissions standards and a regular gallon of gas costs roughly $3.77. Of course when you are talking about living expenses there are a lot of other contributions depending on your lifestyle. Maybe you are a golfer or a foodie who enjoys dining out regularly. All of these things will contribute to the cost of living, but if you are interested in living in Palm Springs, I would love to be the person to help make that possible for you!

USA: FRANK SINATRA TO BE BURIED IN PALM SPRINGS
English/Nat
Frank Sinatra may have been born in New Jersey but he will be laid to rest on the other side of the United States - in Palm Springs, California.
He spent much of his later years in the hot desert resort town, and most residents seem sad that their Mr. Palm Springs is no longer with them.
Admirers are showing their affection for the man with wreaths, bouquets and vases of flowers placed alongside his star on Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
Hoboken, New Jersey may be his birthplace but for the residents of Palm Springs, California, Frank Sinatra was their favourite son.
The hot desert resort town was a frequent haunt of The Chairman of the Board.
Residents have marked his passing by showering his star on the Palm Springs Walk-of-Stars with bouquets, wreaths and momentos including an empty martini glass and burning candles.
Residents and tourists alike are bracing for the media onslaught that is sure to accompany his burial.
Reports already indicate a fierce battle is underway among family members and Barbara Sinatra over the estimated two hundred (m) million U-S dollar Sinatra estate.
The late entertainer's business empire comprises music publishing, a beer wholesaler, expensive real estate holdings and a mint of recording royalties.
As tourists and residents stop and admire the impromptu sidewalk shrine, people are reflecting on what Sinatra's passing means.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
It makes me very sad every time I hear his music I want to cry. He's a real legend.
SUPERCAPTION: Betty Hornick, Barbara Sinatra acquaintance
SOUNDBITE: (English)
I'm sad I think it's a loss. Just like when we lose any entertainer we get a pleasure out of watching or listening to, the John Wayne's, the Jimmy Stewart's, the Lee Marvin's, the Broderick Crawford's, they're all gone. We haven't really had that type of actor or singers to replace them nowadays.
SUPERCAPTION: Steve Kiefer, Palm Springs shop owner
But some Palm Spring's residents don't share the adulation.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
Frank Sinatra was a punk. He did a lot of things that weren't nice. Including years ago there was a bar here called the Dollhouse, and if they didn't have his record on the jukebox, he'd trash the place. He went nuts. So, he did a lot of things that weren't cool.
SUPERCAPTION: Allen Panick, Palm Springs resident
Like anyone, Sinatra's death is felt worst by friends and Palm Springs folk who came to know him personally.
At Sorrentino's, an Italian restaurant frequented by Sinatra over the years, they are planning to place a plaque on the bar in front of the stool he usually used.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
So I can remember when newlyweds were in here one day and they got all excited when they saw him, he just went and gave them a hundred dollar bill and said, 'Have a nice honeymoon.' I think the myth of him being a scary guy was just a myth.
SUPERCAPTION: Bill Sorrentino, Restaurateur
One large beneficiary of the Sinatra estate could be a cause near to Barbara's heart.
The Barbara Sinatra Children's Center in Rancho Mirage, which aids abused children, is reportedly in line to receive between 70 and 150 (m) million U-S dollars.
And not far away, Old Blue Eyes will be laid to rest in the family plot in this serene and simple cemetery.
The family says Sinatra will be escorted to his grave by a military honour guard because he received both the Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold Medal.
A private vigil for Sinatra will be held on Tuesday night at a church in Beverly Hills.
Sinatra's private funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

I Went to the Secret Gucci Discount Store (Gucci Items Under $100)
Cheap gucci items under $100 are usually impossible, unless it's fake gucci. But I went to the Gucci outlet and secret gucci discount store to find out how cheap the gucci belts, bags, and clothes are at the outlet mall vs full price gucci store! We found some $100 gucci items, and huge discounts on everything except the gucci slides and shoes, really!
❤ OPEN ME!
Hey babes! In this video I go inside the Gucci outlet store to find some cheap Gucci items and compare prices! I love designer stores like Gucci and Louis Vuitton, but I also love a good deal so this is a dream come true for me hahaha. The only weird thing about the Gucci discount store is there's so much secrecy behind it!

What is therapeutic massage?
Therapeutic massage in palm springs is a general term that describes any type of massage that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem like a frozen shoulder.
People tend to assume a therapeutic massage means deep tissue massage, and that they will get a very strong massage. But this is not always the case. Deep tissue massage is great at breaking down scar tissue and getting your blood circulating, but it may not be what you need on a particular day.
We will apply the specific techniques and the right amount of pressure to address your needs, and sometimes that’s a lighter touch.
