Galler Chocolate Passion
Galler Chocolate - one of the world's most exclusive brands of chocolate.
Jean Galler was born into a luxury dessert environment. He liked working in the family confectioner's shop founded by his grandfather in 1930 and he has kept this passion since then.
At 16 years old, inspired by chocolate, he experiments this living material that fascinates him. To develop his knowledge and discover new savours, he studied in Basel (Switzerland), then with Gaston Lenôtre in Paris.
At 21 years old, he launched his own enterprise. 30 years later, the foundations of the company remain the same :
* passion for chocolate
* pride in perfection
* constant creativity
Today, the team of 80 employees design, produce and market pralines, ice-creams, chocolate pâtisseries, filled chocolate bars, as well as chocolate tablets, cat's tongues (cartoon cats moulded from chocolate), spreads, bite-sized chocolates,...
After having built up its reputation in its region, Galler is now found throughout the Belgian market in more than 2,000 sales outlets. Galler owns currently a network of stores in Belgium, France, Luxemburg, Japan, the Lebanon, the United States...
Frequently our company has been honoured with official recognitions. The most prestigious is undeniably the appointment as «Belgian Royal Warrant Holder», awarded in 1994. In 2002, Galler receives the « Innovation Prize» for the concept of CHOCOLAT-THE© at the Franchise Fair of Brussels.

BRUSSELS | Belgium Chocolate Village | The Urban Wanderer
There are three main things that might come to mind when you think of Belgium and chocolate is more than likely one of them (followed by beer and waffles)
While we were in Brussels recently we decided to take a visit to the Belgium Chocolate Village. We were staying nearby but it is also only a 40 minute wander from the Manekin Pis. (you can also take public transport if you're short on time)
There are interactive displays, multi language audio devices, a tropical house growing cacao plants and also your chance to taste fine chocolates form the hands of the in house artisan chocolate maker.
It is definitely worth a visit. Plus, if you buy the Brussels Card, your entry is free!

Bruges, Ghent, and Antwerp all have their own distinct vibes and cultural identities. Each city deserves at least a day to explore and Belgium itself at least a week to visit if you are travelling in the area.
There is so much more we were unable to see and do, but I hope this video gives you a good overview of what the cities look like and some of the amazing experiences you can expect.

Of course it is a religious festival, therefore it is an important time for me personally, but what is also very special about Easter is that it signifies rejuvenation after winter. Apart from that, yes it''s true it''s a commercial festival for us because we are in the chocolate business, but it is not absolutely the most important thing for me.

STORYLINE
Few places in the world celebrate chocolate the way they do in Belgium.
This is particularly true with the arrival of Easter and Holy Week, key dates in the Christian calendar.
The chocolate shops that line the streets of the old town in Brussels transform their window displays into the ultimate chocolate showcase, luring sweet toothed passers by inside.
This is where praline was invented - by Neuhaus. The first chocolate bar was made here - in 1921 by a company called Kwatta. It is also where chocolate spread was first patented.
A potted history to explain Belgium''s passion for chocolate suggests that it is partly due to strong ties with some of the best suppliers of the base ingredient - cocoa - in the world.
That''s why shops like Godiva''s are known the world over and brand their praline coated easter products as eggstraordinary.
Locals and resident eurocrats alike, among them EU Commissioner Peter Mandelson who was spotted shopping here in the Wittamer family-run shop, cannot stay away.
Owner Myriam Wittamer said Easter was not just about religious celebration.
It is also the second busiest season in the year for the chocolate trade, after Christmas and New Year''s Eve.
Chocolate here has and always will be considered the perfect gift as any normal chocolate lover will be quick to remind you.

The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.
Currently, I have already visited nearly 170 countries and my world tour continues thanks to you who follow me.
