Letters From Latta
This is a Glen Cashetta's student short documentary of the Latta Plantation located next to the Catawba River in North Carolina, U.S.A . The film is about life on the plantation, slavery, and service in the Confederate Army. It is a treatment of life in the Southern United States during the Civil War Period. The original letters, provided by the Historic Latta Plantation are brought to life using actors in historical costumes of the period. The Latta story is one of the grounds and the people who lived there during the 19th Century from 1820 to 1863. This film is an opportunity to take a glimpse at a significant time in our historical life. This film was made for Film 3050 at The University of North Carolina- Charlotte (Spring 2011).

Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point
Today in 1942, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point was officially commissioned in the beginning of World War II. Lt. Col. Thomas J. Cushman assumed command as the first commanding officer for the air station. “Officers were invited to attend if their work loads and other responsibilities permitted,” written by Master Sgt. Lou Nadlny on the 20 year anniversary edition of the air station’s very own newspaper, the Windsock.
During times of war, MCAS Cherry Point has been instrumental in providing air support for almost all operations conducted out of the East Coast. 77 years later, MCAS Cherry Point is still a crucial asset for air defense and as a training area for numerous military units. As the largest Marine Corps air station on the East Coast and with all the capabilities it has, the air station is ready for any new roles that may be demanded of it. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. White Supremacist Has Roots in North Carolina
*Still Newspaper Photo of Frazier Glenn Miller Courtesy: Wake Forest Weekly
73-year-old Frazier Glenn Cross who also went by the name Frazier Glenn Miller has deep white Supremacist roots in North Carolina. Miller was well known for organizing and founding North Carolina's now defunct White Patriot Party otherwise known as the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. He gained infamy in the 70s and 80s experts say for his involvement in racist and Anti-Semite marches in cities across the state.
He was the grand dragon of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, said Heidi Beirich of the Southern Poverty Law Center. When he was living in North Carolina he was intimidating African-Americans, leafletting on the streets, really aggressive activities.
Miller is now accused of killing three people Sunday in attacks at a Jewish community centre and Jewish retirement community near Kansas City. None of the victims, however, are jewish.
Miller had a major role in the violent Klan Nazi caravan in 1979 that erupted with gunfire and was called the Greensboro massacre. Five people died but Miller never faced jail time related to the event.
He is a hyprocrite, he is a liar, and he is a murderer, said Kirk Lyons, an attorney in Black Mountain known for representing white Supremists over the decades. Lyons, represented a man found not guilty in the execution style murders in 1987 at a gay bookstore in Shelby, North Carolina. During testimony Miller was implicated as the shooter but was never charged or an official suspect in the case.
Lyons maintains prosecutors should take a second look at the still unsolved murders and re-investigate if Miller was involved in the killings.
For closure, said Lyons. For the grieving families of the Shelby bookstore murders, they should re-open the case and take a good look at Frazier Glenn Miller. If they had prosecuted him and found him guilty this tragedy in Kansas would not have happened.
Over the years Miller has been jailed for his involvement in violent activity but has been quiet in recent years.
So maybe it's not so surprising, said Heidi Beirich, That he decided at the end of his life, at 73-years-old, and suffering from severe emphysema that he was going to do what he always advocated which was exterminating Jews.

Does Eerie Photo From Scene of Deadly Crash Show Stairway to Heaven?
Following a fatal car crash in Georgia last month, a photo captured a beam of light shining down on the wreckage, leaving many to believe it was an illumination from heaven. Hannah Simmons, 23, her 9-month old baby and her best friend all died in the accident after Simmons lost control of her car. Anisa Gannon was on her way to work when she came upon the scene and took the photo. At the time, she didn't know anyone died nor did she notice the beam of light.

The Nightmare World of Gang Stalking
More than 10,000 people worldwide claim they're the victims of a vast organized surveillance effort designed to ruin their lives, a phenomenon known as gang stalking. Mental health experts see gang stalking as a symptom of paranoia, but the self-identified victims who insist what they're experiencing is real have come together online and in support groups to share their stories.
VICE met up with a handful of Americans who claim their lives have been derailed by gang stalking to understand what serious consequences the phenomenon presents. Then we hear from Dr. Josh Bazell, one of many physicians who believes the victims of gang stalking are experiencing dangerous delusions that could be treated by mental health professionals.
