HARTFORD, Conn. — Marilyn Monroe’s rear is getting some leers in Connecticut. A 26-foot statue of the actress has been placed in a Stamford park across the street from a church, which is getting a full view of her behind. Legendary Road Trip from Las Vegas
00:00:18 to skip Intro
We reached Las Vegas in the late afternoon and spent some time at the Neon Museum (must-visit attraction). In the next morning we made our way to the Grand Canyon where we had spectacular views from the Skywalk. On the way back we stopped by at the Hoover Dam and then continued our journey to Las Vegas. In the evening we watch Michael Jackson: One by Cirque du Soleil at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. After a short night we left Las Vegas on the Extraterrestrial Highway, stopped at the Black Mailbox, drove until Area 51 (until the barricades) and had lunch at the alien-themed restaurant The Little A'Le'Inn. Leaving the Aliens behind, we drove through the desert until we reach our Accommodation at Death Valley. We went to the Badwater Basin, Zabriskie Point and Dante's View before driving to Palm Springs (California).

Background Information: Las Vegas, officially the City of Las Vegas and often known simply as Vegas, is the 28th-most populated city in the United States, the most populated city in the state of Nevada, and the county seat of Clark County. Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped cantilever bridge with a glass walkway in Arizona near the Colorado River on the edge of a side canyon in the Grand Canyon West area of the main canyon. The United States Air Force facility commonly known as Area 51 is a highly classified remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base, within the Nevada Test and Training Range. The top-secret Area 51 government base is near SR 375, and many travelers have reported UFO observations and other strange alien activity along this road. Such stories prompted the state to officially designate the route as the Extraterrestrial Highway in 1996. The small town of Rachel, located near the midpoint of the highway, caters to tourists, geocachers, and UFO seekers with alien-themed businesses. Although the area receives some tourism due to alleged extraterrestrial activity, SR 375 remains a lightly traveled route. On a deserted stretch of road known as the “Extraterrestrial Highway” between Alamo and Rachel, Nevada, there is a lone mailbox with the names of two recipients. A larger box is labeled with the unassuming name of “Steve Medlin”; a smaller box is simply marked “Alien. Death Valley is a desert valley located in Eastern California, in the northern Mojave Desert bordering the Great Basin Desert. It is one of the hottest places in the world at the height of summertime along with deserts in the Middle East. Rachel is over 100 miles (160 km) north of Las Vegas in the Great Basin Desert, along Nevada Highway 375 (the Extraterrestrial Highway). The tiny town receives a substantial number of visitors and tourists, catered to by a small tourist shop, a 12-room motel, and an alien-themed restaurant and bar, the Little A'Le'Inn. Badwater Basin is an endorheic basin in Death Valley National Park, Death Valley, Inyo County, California, noted as the lowest point in North America, with a depth of 282 ft (86 m) below sea level.

UFO mystery as snake-like lights filmed slithering over California desert
Credit: Pen News/Cody Kennedy (
A MYSTERIOUS snake-like UFO glows over the US desert in enigmatic new footage.
Cody Kennedy, 31, was driving with friends in Twentynine Palms, California, when he spotted the mysterious lights.
He had hoped to record some reptilian life for his animal-themed YouTube channel, Crazy Cody's Creatures, but instead found something slithering through the sky.
“Me and a couple of friends were driving around the desert looking for rattlesnakes,” he said.
“In the desert at night, rattlesnakes will come up on to the roads while they are looking for food and mates, and I like to drive around looking for them.
“We were returning back when we saw a bright long bar in the sky that was moving.”
He continued: “We first saw it about a mile away and it looked like someone was shining a light on the bottom of a flag, but it was too high up to have been attached to something on the ground.
“So we drove over to it, got under it and filmed it.”
In his footage, the UFO resembles a worm squirming in the night sky, illuminated in white but with patches of black rippling along its body.
He and his pals watched it for more than 30 minutes before it hurtled to the ground and vanished.
“We saw it come to the ground in the middle of the desert,” said Cody. “We all ran out to it but didn't find anything.”
Cody, from Palm Springs, has had all sorts of suggestions as to what it might have been, but has reservations about all the explanations so far.
“A lot of people have said balloon, but the wind was blowing pretty good and it went against the wind,” he said.
“A drone with an LED light bar behind it was also a good idea but it didn't make any noise and drones are loud.
“I think maybe it was the tail of a kite that has some kind of LEDs but I have looked online for something like it and can't find anything.
“And if it was a kite, where was the person holding it? Also there were powerlines there too, so kite flying at night would be dangerous.”
As for the possibility of something extra-terrestrial, Cody is keeping an open mind.
“I want to believe,” he said. “I just need some evidence now.”

1953-01-20: Dwight Eisenhower Takes Oath of Office
20 Jan 1953: Dwight D. Eisenhower Takes the Oath
On this 20 January day in 1953, Gen Dwight D. Eisenhower takes the oath of office for the first time to become President of the United States.
One year and one month later, on 20 February 1954, while he was supposedly on a 'vacation’ to Palm Springs, California, President Eisenhower went missing. He is known to have had dinner at the Palm Springs home of Paul H. Helms, a famous Baking industry executive and sports philanthropist. Then he dropped out of sight for a total of 6 hours.
During this time, the Associated Press released a stunning report to the wire that Pres. Eisenhower died tonight of a heart attack in Palm Springs.
This odd AP statement was verified and documented by Pres. Eisenhower's very credible press secretary James Campbell Hagerty in The diary of James C. Hagerty: Eisenhower in mid-course, 1954-1955.
A furious James Hagerty wrote in this diary that:
Someone fooling around with teletype. Moved on open state wire. Caused some hell, but AP killed it two minutes later. Called AP New York offices for explanation and to demand a full report.
There is, however, no evidence that such an explanation was ever provided to Eisenhower's Press Secretary.
When President Eisenhower showed up the next morning at a Los Angeles church service, journalists were told that he required emergency dental treatment and had visited a local dentist, who was presented shortly thereafter at an evening function.
It is also an established fact that Eisenhower’s impromtu second winter vacation from 17 to 24 February 1954 was announced rather suddenly and came less than a week after Eisenhower’s previous ‘quail shooting’ vacation in Georgia.
The sudden trip, the premature death announcement and the missing time have led many to propose that the alleged dentist visit was a cover story for an important and secret meeting at Muroc Field, Edwards Air Force Base.
It should also be noted that when Apollo 11 made the first moon landing in July of 1969, it was Helms Baked Goods that had secured the contract to furnish bread for the mission, making Helms The First Bread on the Moon. Just five months after Helms Bread had landed on the moon, the company closed its doors.
To this information, add what Gen Eisenhower had to say in his farewell address on 17 January 1961 about the risk of destroying our civilization... and compare these to the words of President Reagan before the United Nations General Assembly on 221 September 1987 regarding the challenges we face on planet EArth.
“I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside of this world.”
Gen Eisenhower's 17 January 1961 Farewell Address
Ronald Reagan's 21 September 1987 Address to UN General Assembly

One full day out of office after spending the last 8 years with the weight of the entire planet resting on his shoulders, what did President Obama do ?
Why he went and played golf of course.....Bit like he has been all the other times during his presidency but how many people do you know get to play 18 holes at the ultra-exclusive Porcupine Creek Golf Club in Rancho Mirage, California with just 2 friends and a secret service detail ???
Enjoy your moment out of the spotlight Mr. President , but considering the job President Trump is doing now that he's in office we could sure use you chiming in from time to time

Tom William - Surrounded by Thunder - The Story of Darrell Loan and the Rocket Men
Tom Williams is a feature article writer and novelist in Southwest Florida. Tom has appeared on Texas A&M University's KAMU television, and has been interviewed as a salvage expert on FOX and Friends network television. He has appeared on multiple segments on WINK television in Fort Myers Fla., the Daily Buzz network television, and the Joey Reynolds Show: a late night radio program on WOR radio in New York City. Lost and Found has led Tom to Palm Springs California to be on KMIR television and Tampa Florida for NBC Daytime TV, and the Jim Bohannon network radio show from Washington DC. After the publication of Lost and Found by Archebooks in September 2008, Tom began a promotional media tour featuring television and radio interviews across the nation. With over 30 flattering reviews to date and the endorsement of New York Times Best Selling Author Steve Alten, Lost and Found is proving to be: A promising debut novel that combines a Pirates of the Caribbean flavor with 21st Century technology. Perfect for sipping Pina Coladas on a tropical azure shoreline. With uncountable shipwrecks lost on the ocean floor, Williams' Lost and Found explores the high-tech possibilities that a satellite orbiting from above the earth could detect a super conductor such as gold and potentially find all the lost shipwrecks around the globe that have a wavelength signature for the incredibly precious metal. With the current price of gold, can anyone really imagine the possibilities? Lost and Found was ranked in the Top five books to take on vacation by Sport Diver Magazine in 2013. Williams' latest book is a non-fiction historical narrative about the golden age of the American space program. Surrounded by Thunder-The Story of Darrell Loan and the Rocket Men, reads like an adventure novel, but the characters, the timeline, and all the incredible achievements of the early days of space exploration are true. Surrounded by Thunder was awarded the gold medal in the 2013 Florida Book Awards. With the arrival of August 2014, Tom is celebrating 29 years as a Master Merchant Marine Officer licensed by the United States Coast Guard. He is a well-traveled and veteran scuba diver specializing in shipwreck diving with a keen interest in deep-sea archeology. With the arrival of October 2014, Williams has reached a milestone with Marriott and specifically Marriott's Marco Island Beach Resort where he has lived and worked on the waters surrounding Marco Island Florida for 35 years. - lostandfoundadventure.com
