This video covers my Sunday morning visit to Plains, Georgia which is the birthplace and home of the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter. I visit the historic downtown, the railroad depot that served as Carter's Presidential Campaign Headquarters, Billy Carter's Gas Station which is now a museum, Jimmy's High School which is now a museum and visitor center, Jimmy Carter Peanut of Plains Statue, Maranatha Baptist Church, Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm and I drive past Jimmy & Rosalynn's current home.

President Jimmy Carter and Plains, Georgia
Jimmy Carter was elected the 39th president of the United States in 1976 after launching his campaign from the old train depot in Plains, Georgia, the small southern Georgia town where he was born and raised.
Today Plains celebrates its most famous famous son. The town is home to the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site, which preserves many of the sites associated with Carter's life in Plains.

Tax Records show the home to have been built circa 1920 but a freshly cut tree near the home dates beyond the civil war era. A Slave / Servant quarters still stands behind the home.

Railroad Remains by The Van Fleet State Trail
The Van Fleet State Trail is the abandoned portion of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad's Florida Western and Northern corridor through Central Florida's Green Swamp area. I explored around portions of this to see what I could find from the old railroad. In the woods off of the trail I found this small concrete structure. here is my hike:
