Magnus Carlsen vs Levon Aronian - 1st Sinquefield Cup - 2013
This is the final round game between Magnus Carlsen and Levon Aronian from the 1st Sinquefield Cup chess tournament. The tournament was held in the United States - Saint Louis, Missouri at the Saint Louis Chess Club & Scholastic Center (Home of the World Chess Hall of Fame). We observe a closed system of the Ruy Lopez with the bulk of play following on the queenside, where black has a space advantage and pressure on an overextended pawn, and white has a nice outpost on c4. At the elite level of chess you can be certain a pawn will not be lost without some form of compensation, as was the case in this game where a struggle to untangle ones pieces ensues. This is the last chess tournament game Magnus Carlsen will play until the 2013 World Chess Championship Match where he'll play as the candidate to the reigning World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand. Game 1 of the 12-game match for the 2013 World Chess Champion title between Anand and Carlsen begins on November 9th, 2013.

Chuck Berry - 2014 FINAL SHOW - MISSOURI St.Louis - Live at Blueberry - June 2014
This was his final show for an audience that came for -what later seemed to be his last- official performance here at the Duckroom, not just because it was Chuck´s 88th birthday, which he & friends celebrated that same year in october 2015.
Charles Edward Anderson Chuck Berry (born October 18, 1926) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. With songs such as Maybellene (1955), Roll Over Beethoven (1956), Rock and Roll Music (1957) and Johnny B. Goode (1958), Berry refined and developed rhythm and blues into the major elements that made rock and roll distinctive, with lyrics focusing on teen life and consumerism and utilizing guitar solos and showmanship that would be a major influence on subsequent rock music.
Born into a middle-class family in St. Louis, Missouri, Berry had an interest in music from an early age and gave his first public performance at Sumner High School. While still a high school student he was arrested, and served a prison sentence for armed robbery from 1944 to 1947. After his release, Berry settled into married life and worked at an automobile assembly plant. By early 1953, influenced by the guitar riffs and showmanship techniques of blues player T-Bone Walker, Berry began performing with the Johnnie Johnson Trio.[2] His break came when he traveled to Chicago in May 1955, and met Muddy Waters, who suggested he contact Leonard Chess of Chess Records. With Chess he recorded Maybellene—Berry's adaptation of the country song Ida Red—which sold over a million copies, reaching number one on Billboard's Rhythm and Blues chart. By the end of the 1950s, Berry was an established star with several hit records and film appearances to his name as well as a lucrative touring career. He had also established his own St. Louis-based nightclub, called Berry's Club Bandstand. But in January 1962, Berry was sentenced to three years in prison for offenses under the Mann Act—he had transported a 14-year-old girl across state lines.
After his release in 1963, Berry had more hits in the mid 60's, including No Particular Place to Go, You Never Can Tell, and Nadine. By the mid-1970s, he was more in demand as a nostalgic live performer, playing his past hits with local backup bands of variable quality.[2] In 1979 he served 120 days in prison for tax evasion.
Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986, with the comment that he laid the groundwork for not only a rock and roll sound but a rock and roll stance.[5] Berry is included in several Rolling Stone Greatest of All Time lists, including being ranked fifth on their 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[6] The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll included three of Berry's songs: Johnny B. Goode, Maybellene, and Rock and Roll Music.

3. UPSOUND (English) Congressman William Lacy Clay (D) Missouri: The world has come to St. Louis today to celebrate Chuck Berry's life and his remarkable music. But there's another chapter in this story that while less known was equally historic because it changed America for the better. Chuck Berry did more than just create hit records. He combined his artistic genius with his enormous personal courage to help break down the barriers of race, intolerance and bigotry in this country through his music. Prior to Chuck's success on the charts, the work of most black musicians were referred to by white America as 'race music.' But after Chuck Berry it was just rock and roll. And rock and roll became the music of not just young America but a worldwide sensation that is still going strong 60 years later and while Chuck faced and ultimately overcame great hardship he never became embittered and he never allowed anyone or anything to rob him of his dignity or his humanity. Instead he used that struggle to inspire him to create more, to dream bigger dreams and reach even more people with the transformational power of his music.
4. Medium, Berry family members (L-R) TBD, son Chuck Berry, Jr., wife Themetta Berry
5. UPSOUND (English) Marshall Chess, son of Chess records co-founder Leonard Chess: My father drove to New York. At that time there was a disc jockey, Alan Freed, Alan Freed is the man who coined the term rock 'n' roll. He was a radical disc jockey for the time playing all kinds of music. When he heard 'Maybeline' his ears perked up and unfortunately in that era to get a record like that played you had to pay. You paid to play, it was the only way. My dad had made a deal - Chuck knew about it. My dad drove back to Chicago, he stopped in Pittsburgh - no cell phones - he called my uncle. 'What's going on!' my uncle said. 'The phone hasn't stopped ringing. People are driving us crazy over that Chuck Berry song.' Alan Freed had played it five hours straight.
6. UPSOUND (English) Jim Marsala, friend and long-time band member: I always looked forward to his calls. 'Hey, Jim,' he'd say. 'Do you want to go to Europe?' and I would say, 'Well, how long will we be gone?' 'Oh 15 days, 14 shows.' My next question was 'When do we leave?' 'Meet me at Lambert (airport) tomorrow at 11 o'clock.' Nothing like a good, a good head up, but I always made it.
7. UPSOUND (English) TBD, Berry's drummer for 11 years: To be, to share the stage with Mr. Berry, it was an honor. Once a month on a Wednesday night when he would come out of that dressing room, I would look up and I had one guy in the audience say 'I notice that you stare up.' I said that I'm praying. My mother would've never thought a little kid like me from the northside is playing with one of the biggest rock 'n' roll stars in the world. Thank you, Chuck. Thank you, Mr. Berry. It was an honor.
8. Wide, Billy Peek
9. UPSOUND (English) Billy Peek, friend and guitarist/band member, protege: Now I recall one weekend at the Hilton in Vegas when Elvis (Presley) came to see Chuck perform and camea back the following night with Sammy Davis, Jr. Now as he was leaving it was rumoured that Elvis told his body guard, 'You've just seen the real king of rock and roll.'

Magnus Carlsen vs Hikaru Nakamura - 2nd Sinquefield Cup 2014
This is the 7th round game between the world's #1 chess player and current world chess champion, Magnus Carlsen, and the USA's #1 ranked player, Hikaru Nakamura, from the 2nd Sinquefield Cup chess tournament of 2014. Nakamura replies with the Slav Defense in reply to Carlsen's d4. Move 3...dxc4 sets the stage for a messy opening where accuracy is critical, and only a single slip being fatal. Can Hikaru Nakamura finally score his first win against Magnus Carlsen in classical time controls? The tournament was held in the United States - Saint Louis, Missouri at the Saint Louis Chess Club & Scholastic Center (Home of the World Chess Hall of Fame). This tournament's 6 competitors (Magnus Carlsen, Levon Aronian, Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Veselin Topalov and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave) have an average rating of nearly 2802, making it the strongest tournament in chess history.
