2. Sir Sandford Fleming Park (The Dingle) Halifax
Sir Sandford Fleming Park is a 95-acre Canadian urban park located in the community of Jollimore in Halifax Regional Municipality. It is also known as Dingle Park which means wooded valley. The park was donated to the people of Halifax by Sir Sandford Fleming. The centrepiece of the park is an impressive tower that commemorates Nova Scotia's achievement of representative government in 1758. Constructed between 1908 and 1912, the Memorial Tower was erected during the same period of building other commemorative towers in the British Commonwealth, notably Cabot Tower in Bristol, England and Cabot Tower in St. John's .

Plays are performed in the park every summer by a professional theatre company called Shakespeare by the Sea. Long Lake Provincial Park is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was initiated in 1981 by then Premier John Buchanan after Halifax's water supply had been shifted from the Spruce Hill/Long Lake/Chain Lakes watershed to the Pockwock Lake watershed near Hammonds Plains. The park itself constitutes the bulk of these former watershed lands - about 2100 hectares. Other portions were deeded to the municipality of Halifax, and the area around the Chain Lakes is still administered by the Halifax Regional Water Commission, since the Chain Lakes are still the official back-up water supply for the city.

From May 27th to June 6th, 2017, we toured Nova Scotia as part of the Road to 150 campaign. It was our second province during our 150-day road trip and what an incredible time we had. From the absolute natural beauty of Cape Breton Highlands National Park to the historic beauty of Halifax, the small town charm of Lunenburg, and the excitement of tidal bore rafting, Nova Scotia is an incredible province to explore. Although we accomplished a lot in ten days, we really only scratched the surface of this incredible east coast province. Whether you're looking for that laid back East Coast charm, maritime history, or incredible natural wonders, Nova Scotia is the place to visit!

Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multimedia road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?

We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.
