Touring with the Caravan and Motorhome Club: Village Baia Domizia
A spacious and well-maintained site located within a beautiful pine forest and with direct access to a stunning beach. Although large, the site is peaceful and attractively landscaped with wide green spaces for children to play and pitches which are set in clearings shaded by mature trees. Facilities include a well-maintained pool complex with large sunbathing areas and entertainment in high season.
Baia Domizia is a perfect base to explore nearby attractions such as the Royal Palace of Caserta, one of the most beautiful UNESCO World Heritage sites in Italy, while excursions to Rome, Pompeii and Sorrento can also be arranged at reception.

FROM SWEDEN TO ITALY - SEPTEMBER 2007
In September 2007 me and my sister went to Italy by car. We didn't use a GPS, we only used maps.
From Västerås in Sweden to Nápoli in Italy and back: 5800 kilometres.
Here's some photos from our trip from Sweden - Germany - Austria - Italy.
AUSTRIA
September 5th it was snowing and we were wearing shorts :)
ITALY
GARDONE RIVIERA, LAGO DI GARDA
We stayed at a hotel that was owned by nuns.
Lago di Garda is the largest lake in Italy. It is located in Northern Italy.
PARMA is a city in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna.
I love cannoli! :) Leave the car (not gun) and take the cannoli :)
ROMA is the capital city of Italy, region of Lazio.
One of the hottest day on our trip.
LA SERRA, BAIA DOMIZIA
We stayed here for a week, it's a very nice place and very close to the sea.
Baia Domizia is at the boarder of the regions Lazio and Campania.
180 km south of Roma and 60 km north of Nápoli.
POMPEI is a ruined and partially buried Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania. The city was destroyed, and completely buried, during a long catastrophic eruption of the volcano Mount VESUVIO spanning two days in AD 79.
The volcano collapsed higher roof-lines and buried Pompeii under 60 feet of ash and pumice, and it was lost for nearly 1700 years before its accidental rediscovery in 1748.
Pompei is one of the coolest and most interesting places I've ever been to!
GIARDINO DEI TAROCCHI - THE TAROT GARDEN
Niki de Saint Phalle (b.1930d.2002) was a French sculptor, painter, and film maker.
In 1979, she acquired some land in Garavicchio, Tuscany, about 100 km north-west of Rome along the coast. The garden, called Giardino dei Tarocchi in Italian, contains sculptures of the symbols found on Tarot cards. The garden took many years, and a considerable sum of money, to complete. It opened in 1998, after more than 20 years of work.
A very nice park with beautiful sculptures!
SIENA is a city in Tuscany.
Siena's cathedral, the Duomo, begun in the twelfth century, is one of the great examples of Italian romanesque architecture. Its main façade was completed in 1380.
GROSSETO is a town and comune in the central Italian region of Tuscany.
This house is...hm...colorful...? :)
ELBA is an island in Tuscany, Italy, 20 kilometres from the coastal town of Piombino. It is the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago, and the third largest island in Italy after Sicily and Sardinia.
LUCCA is a city in Tuscany, northern central Italy.
CARRARA is a city in the province of Massa-Carrara (Tuscany, Italy), famous for the white or blue-gray marble quarried there. Carrara marble has been used since the time of Ancient Rome; the Pantheon and Trajan's Column in Rome are constructed of it. Many sculptures of the Renaissance, such as Michelangelo's David, were carved from Carrara marble. For Michelangelo at least, Carrara marble was valued above all other stone, except perhaps that of his own quarry in Pietrasanta. The Marble Arch in London and the Duomo di Siena are also made from this stone.
It was very scary to drive in that tunnel, it was so dark and alot of dust, that you almost couldn't see anything. My darkblue car was white after the dust from the Carrara marble.
BOLZANO is a city in the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol region of Italy.
The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano is where the ice-mummy Ötzi is kept.
He looks nice after 5000 years :)
CELLE is a town and capital of the district of Celle, in Lower Saxony, Germany.
The most impressive building is the ducal palace, Schloss Celle, which was built in 1530 at the site of the former castle. The buildings in Celles old town centre date back to the 16th century, among them numerous (and some 480 restored) half-timber houses.
A very nice town with beautiful houses. I liked the Steakhouse :)
SWEDEN
In Göteborg it was raining, welcome back home to Sweden :)
And back home in Västerås the car was full... with memories from our trip.

ITALIA.
Buon viaggio e buon divertimento.
