Barrika is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, Spain, in the autonomous community of Basque Country, northern Spain. It is considered one of the oldest municipalities of Biscay. It was founded by Sancho Vela. As it is placed next to the sea and near Bilbao, its population has grown a lot in the last part of the 20th century. Barrika belongs to the comarca of Mungialdea. There are about 1,405 inhabitants in the municipality and it has 7.77 km2.
