Hiking through Wonderful Bufones de Arenillas and beautiful beaches in Asturias, Spain | Camino del Norte Pendueles, Llanes, Celorio - Day 18

On the Day 18 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we got from the campsite La Paz in Pendueles to the campground Playa de Troenzo in Celorio.

We woke up pretty late to a cloudy morning in a beautiful location at camping La Paz. We were more than happy with it because of its incredible location between the two beaches and unusual concept. It was extremely hard to wake up to the gloomy weather that was staying lately and you know when you like the place you kind of don't hurry to leave. We tried to pack everything up as quickly as possible and get on the trail. We started getting through the fields and went out to the beautiful viewpoint that produced the strange sounds. We took some pictures of the rocks and cliffs and got closer to the place where a thunder like sounds were heard...

Day 12 The Most Beautiful Church in Spain Camino St. Juan-Burgos

Camino Frances takes us from St. Juan to Burgos, home of the most beautiful catholic church in Spain, the Cathedral in Burgos. We pass by cross-Cruz de Matagrande where a lot of pilgrims left rocks as a memorial. This is not the main and highest cross yet though for a moment we were not sure.

Dinner in an Old Mill (Molino de la Romera) Carmona, Spain

Arranging meals for a group tour is a major challenge for operators ; particularly in Spain where dining doesn't usually begin until 8:30p. Molino de la Romera consented to serve at 7:30p. Don't take my opinion about a so-so meal as gospel. I'm sure other selections here would be to my taste.

Great ambiance though.

Places of the Camino: Villafranca Montes de Oca

Villafranca Montes de Oca, in the province of Burgos, is the town located in the middle of the Montes de Oca stage, one of the toughest on the Camino Francés due to its hills.

The small town's main attractions are the St. James Church (XVIII century) and the hermitage of the Virgen de Oca, located 1.5 km. (approx.) of the village.

Further apart from the Camino, there is also a beautiful view at the Alba dam, located about 4 km. from the village, which was finished in 1995 near the abandoned town of Alba.
