Ella sri lanka located near Bandarawela has become one of the shortest out of the destination of foreign tourists. A place has been given value by the tourist them selfs. The beauties of the environment severity and conducive climatic patterns have attracted them at lots. Ella is a popular place at present not by the local people but by foreigners. Some tourists always look the something deferent. They have discovered another place that is less similar to Ella in terms of the environment but less crowded. Its is Poonagala which had been captured by the tourist for a long time.
Main access is from the Bandarawela town. Poonagala can be reached from Beragala across the Diyaluma falls. The Poonagala road which starts from Bandarawela station lies attention extremely beautiful flatter and as the access road as many bends and gradual elevation. A tea state extends to western art. Water streams flow into the valley. The fog is like the silky seat. Poonagala is the catchment area of several waterfalls points in Diyaluma and Visari falls. Lipton’s seat is one of the best tourist attractions in Sri Lanka
The place gets this name because the Scottish tea baron Sir Thomas Lipton used to survey his burgeoning empire from here.
Located on the top of the Poonagala hill near the Haputale, it is a beautiful travel to the hill country from Colombo
From Haputale town, you have to climb about 7 km through rich tea plantations to reach the location.
From the Lipton’s view you can have a conspicuous view of the Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Eastern provinces including 7 districts.
Scenic Beauty of Haputale in Sri Lanka
Haputale is a scenic hill town belongs to Badulla district, the center part of Sri Lanka. This small hill station is 1431 meters above the sea level. The climate is cooler throughout the year. I made a solo trip and traveled by Expo Rail from Nanu Oya Railway Station to Haputale Railway Station. I stayed one night at Olympus Plaza Hotel.
The main tourist attraction of Haputale is the Lipton’s Seat. I enjoyed a romantic drive from Dambatenne to Lipton’s Seat. It was such a scenic road trip. Haputale is one of my top favorite travel destinations in Sri Lanka. The scenic beauty of Haputale in Sri Lanka was too cool to explore from Lipton's Seat.

The steep climb from Beragala junction to Haputhale was a daunting task for carters of an earlier era. Now there are nice paved roads with smooth gradients.

Mr. Chandrasiri Amarasinghe, former owner of Samagi Guest Inn, has started this new guesthouse with best views over the lowlands of Sri Lanka. Yala and Udawalawe National-park can be seen from here. Forest, wilderness and vegetable gardens are down under, high mountains above. Monkeys, deers, pigs and peacocks come close to the house. Just 5 km from Haputale and 2 km to Beragala it has a very good location for all travellers between east (Arugam Bay, Wellawaya, Yala) and west (Balangoda, Ratnapura, Colombo). An advantage is the warmer climate cause of the lower altitude than Haputale. A view point with parking lot (10 cars), sun umbrellas and benches are infront of the building. The restaurant is on top of the building, the seperated guest rooms are down under. All the building and walls are made by natural stones. Lot of beautifull flowers are all around. All guests will get a welcome drink.
Nature Horizon has 6 double rooms with attached bathroom. Each room has two big beds, nice wooden racks, chairs and tables. The bathrooms are comfortable, have hot water and fresh towels. Extra towels soap and toilet paper are free of charge. All rooms have a solid balcony and a floor with a main hall. This big hall has two sitting areas with sofa, arm chairs, tables and chairs. Enough place for 12 or more guests as well as children who like to play inside. Games: Cards, carom board and chess. Free newspapers by order. A common fridge can be used by guests.
Laundry service washing only (2-3 hours). Free iron box. International calls can be done by price list. Local calls 20 Rs./min. Doctor call and Also free pickup service can arrange from from Haputale and Beragala. Please make advance call to pick you up in time. Tours can be arrange on request . Deposit box and luggage room are available. Building can be booked for wedding ceremonies too. Checkout time is 12.00 Noon
The restaurant is open from 6 AM - 10:00 PM. We offer eastern, western, local and international food. Curries with all kind of meat, fish and vegetables. Take away parcels and breakfast cost each 225 Rs., lunch and dinner each 290 Rs. Service charge 10%.
