BULA from one of my all-time favorite countries -- FIJI!
I am here for a third visit -- but this time is just a 24 hours layover en route from Micronesia to Tuvalu -- so I decided to make a 5th episode of my favorite series, seeing how far I can maximize $100 in 24 hours!
Many people think that Fiji is so expensive (and it certainly can be)... but if you live like a local, then I find it to be cheaper than anywhere else in the Pacific.

About This Episode:
Today we're heading back into Cebu City for our final food farewell. First on the menu is a Cebuano classic, located in the back alleys of Pasil, Tuslab Buwa. This was an unexpected treat. Little bit of pork brain matter mixed with oil, starch and soy sauce, which ends up making a surprisingly good dip for the Cebu hanging rice known as Puso. Hit play and get ready to be confused as your mouth waters. ;)

This is Part 2 of our Ethiopian village cultural food tour. If you haven’t already seen Part 1, you can watch it here:
From the incredible Konso Village, we drove back to Arba Minch in Ethiopia, and then continued driving into the mountains, to a Dorze ethnic people village, high into the misty peaks. This is the village where Dessie is originally from, and also our driver, so they know everyone there. It was amazing to arrive to the village.
One of the amazing parts of Dorze Ethiopian culture are their elephant shaped traditional huts, which are unique and one of a kind, shaped like elephants. One of the main most important foods of the Dorze is false banana, also known as ensete. It’s called a false banana because they plant does not produce banana fruit, but just giant leaves, and you eat the stump.
Aunty made a number of extremely unique dishes, including a false banana porridge, and a false banana pancake, along with coffee leaves tea - something I had never seen or ever heard of before.
Visiting the Dorze of Ethiopia was an incredible culture and food learning experience, and it was an honor to have a chance to visit on this Ethiopian food tour trip.
Thanks to Dessie from Go Addis Tours ( for arranging everything on this trip.

White pebble beach resort Minalabac, Camarines Sur Philippines 1 of 2
If you're traveling to Naga City and would like to add some sea therapy in your itinerary, there's an unusual beach in Barangay Bagulatao in the municipality of Minalabac, Camarines Sur. Its shoreline is glistening with pebbles, pebbles everywhere!
Travel time takes 45 minutes by private transportation and roads going here are partially rough which adds a little thrill to the trip.
What I find particularly appealing about this type of beaches is that the pebbles look like precious rocks when the sun hits its surface!
