Abruzzo (pronounced [aˈbruttso]) is a region in Italy, its western border lying less than 50 miles (80 km) due east of Rome. Abruzzo borders the region of Marche to the north, Lazio to the west and south-west, Molise to the south-east, and the Adriatic Sea to the east. Although geographically more of a central than southern region, ISTAT (the Italian statistical authority) considers it part of Southern Italy, a vestige of Abruzzo's historic association with the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.

The region is situated at the centre of the Italian peninsula facing the Adriatic, which it follows along 150 km of beaches and rocks. With an area of 10,794 km2 (4,168 sq mi), and bordered on the east by the Adriatic and on the west by the Apennines, it is one of the most mountainous regions in Italy (the Corno Grande in the Gran Sasso massif, at 2,914 m (9,560.37 ft), is the highest summit in the Apennines). The rivers, although numerous, are all seasonal except for the biggest - the Pescara and the Sangro. In the interior are the 500 km2 (190 sq mi) of the Abruzzo National Park, where rare examples of Mediterranean flora and fauna survive (chamois, wolves, bears, golden eagles).The climate is varied - warm and dry on the coast, an alpine climate in the mountainous interior. Major roads and railway lines link the region to the south, west and north of Italy and the rest of Europe.[1]

Humans have inhabited Abruzzo since Neolithic times. A skeleton from Lama dei Peligni in the province of Chieti has been radiometrically dated to 6,540 bp.[2] The name Abruzzo appears to derive from the Latin Aprutium, although in Roman times the region was known at various times as Picenum, Sabina et Samnium, Flaminia et Picenum and/or Campania et Samnium.[3] This region was known as Aprutium in the Middle Ages arising from four possible sources. Many think it is apparently a corruption of Praetutium, or rather of the name of the people Praetutii, applied to their chief city, Interamnaes, now present day Teramo. Another etymology is from the Latin aper (boar) so that Aprutium was the land of boars or from abruptum (rugged, steep). A more recent etymology is from the Latin expression a Bruttiis (from the Bruttii) meaning the land that began from the Bruzi people, who moved south to occupy Calabria.[3][4]
Until 1963 it was part of the Abruzzi region with Molise. The term Abruzzi derives from the time when the region was part of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and the territory was administered as Abruzzo Citeriore (Nearer Abruzzo) and Abruzzo Ulteriore I and II (Farther Abruzzo I and II ), that being nearer and farther from Naples, the capital of the kingdom.[3] Abruzzo Citeriore is present day Chieti province. Abruzzo Ulteriore I comprised the Teramo and Pescara provinces; Abruzzo Ulteriore II is now the Province of L'Aquila. In this province is found the city of CORFINIO (known as CORFINIUM in ancient Italy), the chief city of the Paeligni, 7 m. N. of Sulmona in the valley of the Aternus. The site of the original town is occupied by the village of Pentima. It probably became subject to Rome in the 4th century B.C., though it does not appear in Roman history before the Social War (90 B.C.), in which it was at first adopted by the allies as the capital and seat of government of their newly founded state under the name Italia (this form, not Italica, is vouched for by the coins). It appears also as a fortress of importance in the Civil War, though it resisted Caesar's attack for a week (49 B.C.). The war was lost, but the name Italia remained to eventually be adopted by all of Italy. Entering Corfinio from the east, a plaque can be observed commemorating, and attributing the designation of the adopted name Italia to the peninsula by the Italic people of the region. These people were honored by Caesar as citizens of Rome.

Esperienza Yudanaka Onsen a Nagano PARTE 1
Era stato sempre uno dei miei sogni andare a visitare la prefettura di Nagano ma più in particolare la città termale di Yudanaka Onsen. Finalmente a Febbraio 21 sono partito da Osaka per farmi una bella esperienza di due notti.
Diciamo che potevo andare anche una notte ma siccome la distanza da Osaka è notevole quasi 5 ore di viaggio! (Vi consiglio di raggiungere Yudanaka da Tokyo che ci vuole molto meno) ho deciso di stare almeno due notti così sono potuto passare da Matsumoto e Shibu Onsen!
Vi spiego come ho fatto passo per passo!
Partenza alla mattina da Shin-Osaka (La stazione dei treni di Osaka ore 9:52am)
Shin-Osaka e cambio a Nagoya 50 minuti di viaggio e da Nagoya treno per Matsumoto 2 ore di viaggio circa, quindi in 3 ore da Osaka sei a Matsumoto.
Una volta arrivato a Matsumoto la stazione si presenta così:
Appena arrivati alla stazione di Matsumoto appena fuori c’è l’ufficio informazioni dove puoi prendere la mappa della città gratuitamente.
Come vedete prima di arrivare al castello ci sono due stradine che sono molto carine da camminarci con negozi locali e street food, la mia preferita è stata la seconda chiamata Nawate street.
Bene! Finalmente il mio sogno si avvera il castello di Matsumoto che a parere mio è il più bel castello di tutto il Giappone, caratterizzato dal suo colore nero. Guardate che meraviglia sembra quasi finto!
Questo castello oltre ad essere nero ha 6 pagode e fù costruito nel 1593-94, ed è il castello più vecchio del Giappone!
Dopo 1 oretta di visita alla città ritorno alla stazione direzione Nagano!
In meno di un ora si arriva a Nagano dove consiglio se avete il tempo di comprare un Apple Pie che sono molto buoni in questa città!
Una volta usciti dalla Stazione di JR dovete raggiungere la Linea Dentetsu che si trova appena usciti dalla parte destra della stazione di Nagano, prendere le scale mobili fino giù e in meno di 2 minuti a piedi siete già nella stazione di Nagano Dentestu. Li dovete comprare il biglietto vi consiglio di pagare 100 yen in più per salire sul treno express che fa meno fermate costo 1,160 yen + 100 yen.
Il treno è diverso dai treni standard ha un design tutto suo
Sia che andate in inverno che altre stagioni il panorama dal treno è bellissimo e si iniziano a vedere le Alpi Giapponesi
Finalmente dopo 5 ore di viaggio sono arrivato!!!
Ecco la stazione di Yudanaka
Ho deciso di alloggiare in un carinissimo Ryokan conosciuto in Trip Advisor come il numero uno confronto prezzo e qualità, il nome del Ryokan è Yudakan Onsen Seifuso Ryokan ( veramente un Ryokan molto carino ed è a soli 3 minuti a piedi dalla stazione.
Pur essendo così vicino quando ho informato l’orario d’arrivo mi sono venuti a prendere in stazione e darmi il benvenuto.
Il Ryokan si presenta così
La stanza stile Giappone e la maggior parte delle stanze sono senza bagno e toilette ma se lo richiedi in inglese su questo sito hanno l’esclusiva per prenotare le stanze con la toilette privata
Ho scelto di avere la cena inclusa il costo totale per una notte con cena e colazione è stato di 10,950 yen che è decisamente poco considerando che c’è sia la cena che la colazione inclusa in più le terme.
Quando ho fatto check-in ho chiesto se potevo usare le terme private e non c’è stato bisogno di prenotarla chi arriva primo poi chiude a chiave una volta entrato e facendo così siete in privato e quindi anche con i tatuaggi non ci sono problemi.

Sifu Paul Smith - Wing Chun Chi Sao basics
Sifu Paul Smith from combatarts-scotland.com is a good friend of mine. He is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
He has been training in martial arts for over 30 years, Sifu Paul has trained under world-reknowned Grandmaster Samuel Kwok (Samuel Kwok Wing Chun Martial Art Association). He was a boxing champion and a PTI (Physical Training Instructor) in the British Army, and has achieved high grades in several styles, such as;
4th degree Black Sash in Wing Chun
1st degree Black Belt in Rapid Arnis
1st degree Black Belt in Doce Pares Original Multi-Style
1st Dan in Shotokan Karate
He has also trained with other great martial artists including: Tuhon Pat O'Malley, Grand Master Yip Ching, Grand Master Yip Chun, Antonio Diego, GM Dionisio Canete, GM Danny Guba, Master Albert Sales, Master Jose 'Joe' Borces, Master Percival 'Val' Pableo, Master Rey Galang, Carlson Gracie, Royce Gracie, Gary Spears, Sensei Enoeda, Sensei Kawazoe and Dan Inosanto.
Sifu Paul has completed in many competitions in addition to his boxing wins in the Army, winning;
5 British titles in full-contact fighting
Gold in the Doce Pares World Championships
Silver in the 1st Invitational World Arnis Championships
Class winner in the 2004 Mr Scotland Body Building competition.
In October 2004, Paul was part of a British contingent of Wing Chun instructors and students who travelled to Hong Kong. The group visited the Yip Man Tong, the Yip Man Wing Chun Athletic Association and some of the first Yip Man Wing Chun schools in China.
In December 2005, Paul travelled to the Philippines where he successfully competed in the 1st Invitational World Arnis Championships, winning a silver medal. He was also made a member of the Philippine Council of Kali, Eskrima and Arnis Masters.
During the trip, Paul was awarded a 1st degree Black belt in 'Doce Pares Original Multi-Style System' after grading in front of a panel of 10 grand masters, including: Master Endring Casio; Master Bonifascio Loloy Uy; Master Rudy Rey and Grandmaster Eulegio Canete.

Incense (from Latin: incendere, to burn) is composed of aromatic biotic materials, which release fragrant smoke when burned. The term incense refers to the substance itself, rather than to the odor that it produces. It is used in religious ceremonies, ritual purification, aromatherapy, meditation, for creating a mood, and for masking bad odours. The use of incense may have originated in Ancient Egypt, where the gum resins and oleo gum resins of aromatic trees were imported from the Arabian and Somali coasts to be used in religious ceremonies.
Incense is composed of aromatic plant materials, often combined with essential oils. The forms taken by incense differ with the underlying culture, and have changed with advances in technology and increasing diversity in the reasons for burning it. Incense can generally be separated into two main types: indirect-burning and direct-burning. Indirect-burning incense (or non-combustible incense) is not capable of burning on its own, and requires a separate heat source. Direct-burning incense (or combustible incense) is lit directly by a flame and then fanned or blown out, leaving a glowing ember that smoulders and releases fragrance. Direct-burning incense comes in several forms, including incense sticks (or joss sticks), cones, and pyramids.
