South America & Antarctica Cruise aboard Star Princess
Long complete video of my fourth cruise in February and March of 2009 on the Star Princess. This 16-day voyage sets out from Buenos Aires, Argentina and then makes its way down to the Antarctic peninsula. This video includes all activities on board the ship as well as extensive coverage of my adventures ashore. See the index below for details. Note: This early video was not recorded in HD. Quebec, Place Royale - Canada HD Travel Channel
Place Royale in Quebec is the centre of the Lower Town and at the same time the starting point of the French settlement in North America. Medieval dressed artisans and street performers mingle with the tourists. Here you can experience, why Quebec is the most popular city for tourists in North America.
The middle of the Place Royale adorns a bust of Ludwig the XIV, in whose honour the place was named.
In the little church of Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, a priest encouraged us to take a little bread. The church is dedicated to the patroness of Paris, Geneviève. Many legends entwine around her, but it is undisputed that she was strongly committed to the poor and needy. During the siege of Paris by Frankish tribes at the end of the 5th Century, a famine broke out. Geneviève organized a ship convoy in order to bring wheat from Champagne to Paris. Free bread was given to the poor. This event is commemorated by the church of Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, as a sign that you should also share with the needy in the good times.
By small parks and through narrow streets, from which Château Frontenac appears in ever new perspectives, we come back to the hotel.

The Cheapest Places to Live in the World in 2019.
In International Living’s Annual Global Retirement Index 2019, we ranked the 25 best retirement havens in the world, where you can live comfortably for less than you can in the US. And while all of these destinations are affordable, we have ranked the most cost-effective havens in the “Cost of Living” category of the Index.
This is possibly our most definitive category in the Index, due to the ease of getting hard numbers. Each of our on-the-ground correspondents fills out an extensive cost-of-living questionnaire, tailored to the needs and wants of an expat retiree. The category evaluates things like day-to-day expenses—from the cost of a flight back to the US groceries, rent, movie theater tickets, eating out, garbage collection, gas, gym membership, and all the hidden and often unconsidered costs.
Here are the five countries that score highest in the Cost of Living category of the 2019 Annual Global Retirement Index.
5. Bolivia
4. Peru
3. Thailand
2. Vietnam
1. Cambodia

Best Brunch Buffet in Canada's Wine Region @ Hotel Eldorado, Kelowna BC
Note: this visit took place in the summer of 2018 during all the wild fires. This is not the case at this time (2019) -- and hopefully not this summer :-)
While visiting the Okanagan Valley and the many wineries in that region, we started searching for a buffet. We found an amazing place in Kelowna along the majestic Okanagan Lake serving an amazing buffet that features the fresh produce in the area. While it was a smokey day because of the wild fires in the Okanagan and California, we were still able to make the most of our time there with the delicious foods, the abundant varieties of wines, and, of course, the great people and company.
We found out that this is a very well known, famous Sunday Brunch at the Hotel Eldorado. In fact, year after year this has been voted the Best Brunch in the Okanagan. How good is it? There’s only one way to find out, and I intend to seek out the answer :-)
Here are some links and info:
