For families, couples, sightseers, and stag dos, Bristol has everything you could ever want from a city. Between Cabot Circus and Stokes Croft you’ll find shops, bars, restaurants, and cafés. During the day there’s all manner of museums, galleries and attractions for you to visit. The city’s entertainment scene is the best in the south-west. And when the sun goes down you can sample Bristol’s nightlife at legendary venues like Lakota.

Visiting Bristol? - We Try The Latest VILLAGE HOTEL Bristol, UK
The Village Hotel Bristol opened in December 2018 in Filton which is near Cribbs Causeway shopping mall and a short drive from Bristol city centre.
The hotel is moderately priced and is a popular choice for business customers in the week and visitors to the South West on the weekend. The hotel features a really big and well-equipped gym and pool which is popular with locals. You can see the big advert for the gym on the front of the striking black Village Hotel building.
I managed to film some of the gym but unfortunately, there were people in the pool so I couldn’t really film that area.
The hotel features a big open plan bar/restaurant with some quirky artwork and of course, it is Bristol, so it does have some Banksy. The lobby also has a Starbucks.
We stayed in a Club Room which is the same size as the standard rooms but features Sky TV and a Dyson hairdryer. The rooms are full of tech with lots of USB plugs, Chromecast and Amazon Echo.
One of the quirky things is the ‘see through’ bathroom which turns opaque at a touch of a button (apart from the door). This may not be the best if you have to share a room with someone you don’t know that well.
The hotel is close to the M32 and the M4 M5 junction, Filton was where the
Concorde was built and the hotel is close to the big aerospace companies which include BAE Systems, Rolls Royce and Airbus.
I went into Bristol city centre on the train which only takes 14 minutes. The nearest station is a 10-minute walk away (Patchway), there is only a train every hour so check the timetables.
* We stayed at the Village Hotel as part of a press trip, Mel was attending the Bristol Fashion Week event at the Cribbs Causeway Mall. Somehow, I (Mr W) wasn’t invited to the fashion event despite being a style icon!

Brandon Hill, also known as St Brandon's Hill, is a hill close to Bristol city centre, between the districts of Clifton and Hotwells, in south west England. At the summit is the Cabot Tower, opened in 1897 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's voyage from Bristol to Newfoundland in 1497.
The upper part of the Brandon Hill is a steep park, divided into informal gardens, a small nature reserve and open grassland. The two-hectare nature reserve has been run since 1980 by the Avon Wildlife Trust who have their headquarters beside the park. The wildflower meadow includes ox-eye daisies, yellow rattle and knapweed. A pond provides a breeding site for frogs, toads and smooth newts. The butterfly garden supplies food for caterpillars and many kinds of butterflies. Birds such as jay, bullfinch and blackcap are seen in the reserve. Native trees and shrubs have been planted, and the meadow is cut for hay in July.
The lower slopes of the Brandon Hill were developed in the 18th and 19th centuries. St George's Church lies on Great George Street on the eastern slope, Berkeley Square is on the northern edge, and the school buildings of Queen Elizabeth's Hospital are on the western side.

Street and Wells, the UK's smallest city! Lined with cobbled streets, independent shops and a wide choice of places to eat, a visit to Wells Cathedral and The Bishop's Palace and Gardens are an absolute must.

To support this, Love Weston has devised a walking trail around Weston-super-Mare, taking in parks and green spaces around the town and along the seafront. It is a flat, circular walk that is suitable or those in wheelchairs, mobility scooters and wit walking aids.
If you are visiting us by car, there is also a trail around Somerset that takes in some key gardens and also through several pretty Somerset villages along the route.
