Dunapataj is a village in Bács-Kiskun county, Hungary. It lies 10 km north from Kalocsa. It is the administrative headquarters of the local museum. Lake Szelidi, a holiday resort and nature reserve with unique wildlife is 4 km away. The Calvinist Church includes Gothic architecture remains from the 15th century and the Baroque-style Church of Saint John of Nepomuk dates from 1761. A former Transylvanian style Unitarian church, built in 1937, is located in the middle of town and houses the local history documents of the Museum of Pataj. Festivals are held in July and August - the Szelidi Summer - and September - the Pataji Autumn.

  • 1. Opusztaszer National Historical Heritage Park Opusztaszer
    The Ópusztaszer National Heritage Park is an open-air museum of Hungarian history in Ópusztaszer, Hungary. It was established in 1982 and is most famous for being the location of the Feszty Panorama, a cyclorama by Árpád Feszty and his assistants, depicting the beginning of the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin in 895. The painting was completed in 1894 for the 1000th anniversary of the event. In the 1970s, a decision was made to build a heritage park in Csongrád County. Restoration of the Arrival of the Hungarians painting and the construction of a new rotunda for the cyclorama began. Construction stopped in 1979 and parts of the canvas were again stored rolled up. In 1991, a Polish group of restorers won the contract for a new restoration. Since 1995 it has been on display ...
