The Costa Brava is one of the most beautiful areas of Catalonia and probably the whole of Spain. Its coast is lapped by the crystal waters of the Mediterranean and its interior overlooked by the spectacular and mighty Pyrenees.
The Costa Brava is a 160-kilometre stretch of beautiful, rugged coastline in the region of Catalonia in the North East corner of Spain. Natural beauty, endless miles of sandy beaches and summer sunshine. You'll find modern, international tourist resorts with high-rise hotels alongside unspoilt fishing villages, sheltered rocky coves and medieval towns with ancient castles. The Costa stretches from Blanes, North of Barcelona, to Roses near the French border.
#TOSSA DE MAR:
Tossa de Mar is a municipality belonging to the county of La Selva, in the province of Girona, on the Costa Brava so this is a perfect place to enjoy its beaches.In the bay of Tossa is a small promontory on the beach, in which a medieval walled city lies, called the Vila Vella, who has seven round towers. Its origin is estimated in the twelfth century and was built to prevent pirate attacks. Inside are the remains of a church and the palace of the governor of the XIV century.
A dozen fine beaches and bays (most notably Platja Gran, Mar Menuda and Cala Giverola) and the imposing Cadiretes massif, ideal for exploring on foot or by mountain bike, make up the privileged natural surroundings of Tossa de Mar. The historic centre of the village is dominated by a towering 12th century wall which encircles the quiet streets and the seafaring atmosphere of the Vila Vella.
Imagine a place where you can travel in time back to a former age…Tossa is a real open-air museum where prehistoric remains overlap with Roman Túrissa, medieval Tursa and today's Tossa, one-time retreat for artists and intellectuals and now host town for tourists and visitors.This heritage gives evidence of all those people who loved this piece of land and made it their home, from now on also yours.

Just 60 km north of Barcelona, Blanes extends for 4km along the stunning south coastline of the COSTA BRAVA. Rich with long sweeping sandy bays, little rocky coves, or deserted bays... If you like the wonders of nature Blanes has a perfect combination of nature, climatic conditions and topographical feature. The Mediterranean town of Blanes is a popular tourist hot spot for Spanish holiday makers, as well as those from other European nations. Blanes also prides itself in offering its visitors a taste of real Spain, with traditional fiestas & street, as well as the vibrant family friendly atmosphere with attractive parks and flower beds throughout the town. The nicest and most enchanting beaches you will find lie on the Costa Brava!! Beaches here have been awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness and clarity of water for several years running.The weather is in the main welcoming all year round. With average highs of 31°C in the summer months & 16°C in the winter, it is possible to enjoy an outdoor life at any time of the year. However be aware during the winter season low temperatures can be a good deal cooler than in Spain's southern regions.

Empuriabrava (Ampuriabrava in Spanish) is one of the most unusual towns along the Costa Brava.Sporting nearly 24 kilometers (15 miles)1 of canals, and 5,000 private jetties, Empuriabrava is the largest residential marina in the world. They call itself “the largest Marina in the world “, an area with more water ways than even Venice. Whether this is a fact remains to be proved. Empuriabrava, however, has an immense number of canals, where boat owners have their own private moorings in front of their houses.Empuriabrava was built on a swamp in 1968 (at that time still Ampuriabrava). Today the place covers an area of over 503 hectares, about 10 % of the total area are canals or port, and this probably counts primarily for the popularity of the resort. From the tiniest boat to the biggest cruising yacht, everything can be found here.

Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Costa Brava, Spain | Day 6 - Port de la Selva-Cadaques
Explore the beauty of Mediterranean coast hiking with us! Discover the variety of landscapes and scenic beaches, its flora and fauna, historical places and small villages. These video series is devoted to the Catalonian part of it, starting from the French village Argelès-sur-Mer in Pyrénées-Orientales all the way to the Spanish village of Cadaqués and Cap de Creus cape on the Costa Brava.
We had a beautiful start of the day having our breakfast at the scenic beach and watching the sun coming up right next to our camping Port de la Vall. The morning was beautiful and we tried to get on the trail as early as possible to escape the middle day heat. We walked through the beautiful white town Port de la Selva, saw the info board with the map of our trail and started our way uphill. We planned to follow the GR 92 route as it seemed to be the perfect trail in terms of distance and it was leading us right to our destination Cadaques. When we were out of the town and turned to the mountain path we entered right away in the Natural Park Cap de Creus with its rich flora and fauna. It claims to have deers, wild boars, lots of bird varieties and reptiles. And we were very excited to cross it today. The route continued to go up as we walked through the area with lots of built old rock walls on the hills that were probably serving for agricultural purposes in the past and looked like crazy amount or work. Then all of a sudden out from a bush we saw a huge lizard running towards the rocks. It was the longest lizard we've seen in our lives and probably was a variety of a monitor lizard. We got scared at first confusing it for a snake but then we were lucky to see another one and even got to film it. At one point the route became quite flat with very little ups and downs and so it was very easy to walk. If it wasn't the heat that was burning us from above and having a little to no shadow throughout the way was very hard. So this trail is better to do as early as possible in the day. We got a bit lost once confusing the routes as there are so many crossovers on the way, but then we realized that it's not a big deal as it was leading to Cadaques anyway. But you might want to have the navigation around in order to choose the shortest route and avoid going over extra mountains. Overall the trail was very picturesque and in spring when everything is blooming it's especially beautiful. We got to experience the feeling of going through enourmous mountain summit and being able to enjoy the mountains views and the views of the seaside on the other side. The place is very unique in its kind. So in the uplifted mood still having much energy left we were stepping into Cadaques...

The fabulous tiny fishing village Port Lligat is located only half an hour away from Kadakas. Shepherd Entertainment gives
you the village history and shows you its sites and attractions.
The quiet little bay where Dali lived with his wife Gala lies only half an hour away from Kadakas. Port Lligat is a fabulous tiny fishing village. The terraced white washed house had an inspiring effect on Mr. Surrealism and it stands only a few steps away from the sea. The building can easily be recognized from the egg ornaments that were so characteristic of Dali. There's no other external sign of the fact that we see the home of the famous painter. In his life, he tried to keep secret where he lived and worked. The exhibitionist artist liked to show his artworks and himself only when he thought it good.
The memorial room furnished in the house focuses not on the artist but on the person. The skeleton of the exhibition consists of furnishings and articles of personal use, books, painting equipment and photographs. The little yard, fruit trees and everyday garden shed, the old fishing boat standing in the garden bear no surreal meaning.
From the window, we can still see the fishing cogs that floated in this bay centuries ago. The colorful cogs floating in the shimmering water are reminiscent of an impressionist artwork. However, they sometimes appear on the canvasses of Dali.

The first section of the Camino Catalán (also known as Camí de St Jaume in Catalan) starts in the seaside town of Port de la Selva, in Catalonia's Costa Brava, and takes pilgrims to Vic.
From Port de la Selva, the Camino will take you to Sant Pere de Rodes, a former Benedictine monastery with spectacular panoramic views of the Mediterranean. Across Catalonia you will have the opportunity to marvel at its undisputed architectural heritage found both in isolated monasteries and in towns and cities such as medieval Girona, Vic and Figueres, home town of painter Salvador Dalí.
Starting off with a 500 metre ascent you will spend the following few days on relatively flat ground until your final walking day: a steep climb of up to 1249 metres awaits before you descend again into the town of Vic.

Ya es mi último día en Mallorca.
Hoy me voy de ruta a visitar unas cuantas playitas. Es imposible no entretenerse caminando por la Playa Cala Esmeralda pasando de una playita a otra con su agua transparente y de ese color tan turquesa.
Tras descansar un poquito y mojarme los pies en la playa de S'Amarador me dispongo a hacer una rutitas que al final se convierten en un corto paseo.
La tarde todavía sigue así que busco una playita que no podía perderme, la Cala Llombards, donde las construcciones que hay al pie de la cala nos ofrece una postal preciosa.
Y para acabar...me cuelo en una finca donde se esconden unos caballos muy peculiares obra del artista alemán Rolf Schaffner.
