Mount Dora Florida is located in Lake County, Florida. As of 2011, Mount Dora has a population of approx 13,000 people.
Mount Dora Florida was founded in 1880 and today is known for its small-town charm. Downtown Mount Dora has many antique shops and restaurants. Downtown Mount Dora overlooks Lake Dora and is home to one of three freshwater lighthouses in Florida. There are many many monthly festivals in Mount Dora and is known as the Festival City.
The town of Mount Dora began in 1874 when the area was settled by David Simpson.
The community was later named for Dora Ann Drawdy, who was an early settler and in 1883 the town was renamed after the lake Lake Dora.
The town historically was a popular winter retreat for hunters, fishermen, and boaters in 1883.
In the 1920s, Mount Dora grew significantly, in residential development and business establishments. Mount Dora began heavily investing in public works as a result.

Trimble Park Campground is just outside of Orlando Florida in beautiful Mt. Dora. This park is situated between two lakes and is just 8-9 minutes from downtown Mt Dora. The campground offers 15 sites for RV camping and a group tent area. This campground is only about 35-40 minutes from Disney as well!

Small Shack by Lake Akron at Ellis Acres Reserve
In Lake County by Paisley is this nice wilderness area not real far from Ocala National Forest. I followed one of the trails back to Lake Akron where I found this small shack. I'm not sure what it was for but maybe for camping is one thought. It would be a really nice place if it was fixed up. I went inside and explored around it. I really enjoyed the views by the lake.
