Monument Rocks - Kansas
Monument Rocks (also Chalk Pyramids) are a series of large chalk formations in Gove County, Kansas. The formations were the first landmark chosen by the US Department of the Interior as a National Natural Landmark. The chalk formations reach a height of up to 70 ft and include formations such as buttes and arches.
The carbonate deposits were laid down during the Cretaceous Period in what was then the Western Interior Seaway, which split the continent of North America into two landmasses. They are estimated to have been formed 80 million years ago.

112 Reynolds Ave. Victorian home in Greenwood, SC
One of Greenwood's most iconic homes is now ready for new owners. The infamous mulberry Victorian home on Reynolds Ave was completed in 1899 for the family of Mr. William Moore, who just happened to be the first judge in Greenwood County. The home was built at a cost of just $3,500! With exquisite attention to detail, it has been lovingly restored by the current owners to show off her true grandeur and glory. It is truly all about the details in this one. From lace-like spindle work to the fully functioning interior transom windows and the 7 foot wide hallway; all common characteristics among Queen Anne style homes. Stepping into the large parlor is like taking a step back in time. You will be welcomed by soaring 11 foot ceilings, a sitting area with fireplace. To the right, through a set of grand pocket doors is the formal living room, complete with fireplace showcasing original tile surround. This leads to a king-sized dining room that features a large built-in china cabinet and beautiful stained glass window. Across the hall you will find the morning room. Three large windows allow the natural light to flow in and an original tongue and groove ceiling complete the historic feel. The master bedroom is also on the first floor with attached bathroom featuring a claw foot tub. The efficient and updated kitchen boasts an abundance of cabinet space, oversized drawers, window seats and wine rack making this room the perfect place for informal family gatherings. The original butlers pantry has been converted to a cozy breakfast room right off the kitchen. Upstairs you will find the remaining three bedrooms, a bathroom and large walk-in attic space. All the rooms on the second floor are well appointed and feature 10 foot ceilings. The exterior of the home is no less impressive. The rounded corner tower and witch's hat turret is the first thing guests notice about this property. You have to look much closer to appreciate the sunburst panel, imbricating fish scale shingles. The grounds have been maintained and feature manicured ivy lined paths and water features. This home is recognized by the Greenwood Historical Society and is truly one of Greenwood's greatest!
