Gentofte Kommune is a municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark on the east coast of the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. It covers an area of 25.54 km2 , and has a total population of 74,548 . Since 1993, its mayor has been Hans Toft, a member of the Conservative People's Party . The municipality is an amalgamation of three formerly independent towns, and several other local settlements, all close to one another. The site of its municipal council is in Charlottenlund.   • 1. Forstbotanisk Have Charlottenlund
    Forstbotanisk Have , or Charlottenlund Arboretum, is a small unit under the Hørsholm Arboretum, which in turn is operated by the University of Copenhagen's Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management. It is located in the grounds of Charlottenlund Palace north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Forstbotanisk Have focuses on having as many different species as possible, while the main unit of the National Danish Arboretum in Hørsholm also focus on assessing various species for use in gardens and parks and in the forestry business. Founded in 1835, it has more than 600 species. It is open to the public from 7 AM to sunset.

    Charlottenlund Palace is a former royal summer residence in Charlottenlund, some 10 km north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The palace was named after Princess Charlotte Amalie, who was responsible for the construction of the original palace. It was later extended and adapted for Crown Prince Frederick VIII to a design by Ferdinand Meldahl in the early 1880s. From 1935 to 2017, the building has housed the Danish Biological Station , later renamed Danish Fishery Survey and in the final years called DTU Aqua. It is now a cultural event venue. The Great Hall is occasionally used for classical concerts.
