Heringsdorf is a municipality and a popular seaside resort town on Usedom Island in Western Pomerania, Germany. It is also known by the name Kaiserbad . The municipality was formed in January 2005 out of the former municipalities of Heringsdorf, Ahlbeck and Bansin. Until January 2006, the municipality was called Dreikaiserbäder, literally meaning Three Imperial Spas, a reference to several vacation visits of the German emperor Wilhelm II until 1918. For the same reason, the fine sandy beach stretching about 12 km from Bansin over Heringsdorf to Ahlbeck and Swinemünde , is also called Kaiserstrand . Doberan Abbey is a former Cistercian monastery in Bad Doberan, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The Brick Gothic church continues in use as Doberan Minster . After the conversion to Christianity of the Wendish prince Pribislav, Doberan was the first monastery founded in Mecklenburg, in 1171, as a daughter house of Amelungsborn Abbey. The first community, at Althof, was massacred in 1179 in the unrest following the death of Pribislaw, and the abbey was re-founded in 1186 in Doberan. It quickly became a political, social and spiritual centre in the region. The abbey church, which continues in use as Doberan Minster , is one of the most important Brick Gothic buildings in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Until the Reformation, during which it was secularised in 1552, the abbey possessed great estates,...

The Road Less Traveled : Usedom Island - Heringsdorf Travel Vlog

On this episode of The Road Less Traveled, travel to Ostseebad Heringsdorf in Usedom Island, Germany. Located on the eastern side of Germany, the island on the Baltic Sea is divided between Germany and Poland. Visit the charming sea-side village with its colonial-style villas in this vlog.

The Road Less Traveled captures the sights and attractions in cities or towns that is not a mainstream or typical tourist destinations.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the best it could have been as I visited, but I thought it would still be an interesting place to see. I haven't been able to travel much in these past 8 months or so, hence the first episode of The Road Less Traveled in a long while. I hope you'll enjoy the vlog!

Heringsdorf, Germany .Some impressions .

Vlog25-4 must visit places in Swinoujscie Poland-on the border of Poland and Germany

Its name has the meaning Świna mouth, which is a city and seaport on the Baltic Sea and Szczecin Lagoon, located in the extreme north-west of Poland.
Świnoujście directly borders the German seaside resort of Ahlbeck on Usedom, both are freely connected by a street and by 12 km (7 mi) of beach promenade.
It is very good for spend the weekend or holidays. You can enjoy the polish food and beach, and then change to the German side to feel the different.
Few people but friendly in this peaceful city. I like there.

Rügen - The beautiful island in the Eastsea. Or rather Baltic Sea (Germany)

For Germans this Island is very well known for its beaches and spa like atmosphere. Especially the chalk cliffs are famous. I did a roadtrip and visited a friend on Ruegen and had to realize again, that my home country has also really nice places to visit...if the weather is good:) See places like Sassnitz, Binz, Sellin, Proras. But the east coast has even more interesting places like Strahlsund, Lübeck, Fehmarn or Timmendorfer Beach. Enjoy the film.
