Hollola is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Päijänne Tavastia region. The municipality has a population of 23,708 and covers an area of 727.47 square kilometres of which 68.66 km2 is water. The population density is 51.19 inhabitants per square kilometre . The municipality is unilingually Finnish. Hollola has the tallest structure in Finland, the Tiirismaa TV-Tower. A popular resort in Hollola is Messilä. There you can do cross-country-skiing, downhill skiing, tramping and play golf. There is a hotel and a camping site in Messilä. Messilä is located by Vesijärvi.

Nuuksio National Park is one of Finland's 40 national parks. Established in 1994, the park spreads over an area of forests and lakes in Espoo, Kirkkonummi and Vihti. WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL HELSINKI 2012

In 2012, Helsinki will be the World Design Capital together with Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, and Lahti. The theme of the design capital year is 'Open Helsinki -- Embedding Design in Life'.

The World Design Capital year is an opportunity for building a better city through design. Everyone can participate: the city, its inhabitants, companies, associations, and schools.

Cities belong to their inhabitants. As a design capital, we provide ways of improving our everyday surroundings and developing our cities. In an open city, the people listen to the city and the city listens to its people.

World Design Capital meeting place in Lahti is the Muotohuoltamo Centre.

Lahti Muotohuoltamo Centre is a venue for local, Finnish and international design. This is a place where everybody can acquaint themselves with the activities of the WDC Helsinki 2012.

Located at Vesijärvenkatu 7, Lahti Muotohuoltamo Centre is open from 2 pm to 6 pm Tuesdays to Fridays, and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays.
