Haunted Ohio! The Witch's Tower
Atop a lonely hillside in Dayton, Ohio sits a mysterious structure. A lonely, unused sentinel, this tower is now the subject of local lore. The Witch's Tower as it is commonly called, is the site of a ghastly and mysterious death, and is said to be haunted to this day. No one really knows why the Witch's Tower was constructed or what it was intended for, but it is now sealed and sits empty, crumbling, and even more mysterious.
Some brave souls venturing around this structure at night have witnessed ghostly apparitions and strange sights and sounds. It is said the ghost of Peggy Harmeson still wanders around the tower today--a victim of a violent lightning strike in the late 1960's.
If you are feeling courageous as well as curious, you can visit the Witch's Tower in the Hills and Dales Metropark in Dayton.

Huber Heights is a city that expands from the northeast. It's occupies Montgomery County and portions of Miami County.
Huber Heights's motto is America's largest community of brick homes. The city is named for Charles Huber, the developer that constructed a number of the homes that would later compose the city. Suburban development first began in the area in 1956. The city of Huber Heights itself was formed by the merger of the town of Little York with Wayne Township in 1981. Little York was founded in the 1800's as a farming village.
Huber Heights continued to grow afterwards by annexing surrounding unincorporated neighborhoods. Huber Heights is Dayton's second largest suburb.

Drop Tower: Scream Zone off-ride HD Kings Island
This is one of two Intamin giant gyro drop towers located in the USA. The other one is at Kings Dominion in Virginia. Although both look alike, there are quite a few differences. At 315 feet, this one is 10 feet taller than the one at Kings Dominion and this one rotates on the ascent to the top whereas the other does not. Even though this one is taller, the one in Virginia has an eight foot longer drop because the brakes are located lower down on the tower. This also gives the one at Kings Dominion a greater top speed of 72 mph, compared to 67 mph for this one.

Let's take a trip down Main Street in Dayton, Ohio. The tour last only 10 minutes and through stop lights and pot holes:
There comes boarded up houses, vacant buildings, prostitutes, red light cameras, construction and drifters. Ah, this is my hometown.
No disrespect to my town, but if there were things of interest here plus, tree lined roads and sense of hometown feel, then maybe some of this stuff that occurs currently can disappear.
Still, instead I will direct this message not only to our mayor, but the congressmen who represent our area, the senators who represent our state, the governor, and President Bush. Here's a look at a community hit hard by the loss of jobs, foreclosure, crime and poverty. Think about that when you say the economy is doing well.
Still if the 2008 Presidential candidates come through Ohio, why don't they make Dayton, Ohio their first stop!
