Camping is an outdoor activity involving overnight stays away from home in a shelter, such as a tent or a caravan.Generally participants leave developed areas to spend time outdoors in nature in pursuit of activities providing them enjoyment. Camping can be enjoyed through all four seasons.
Modern campers frequent natural parks, beaches, wilderness areas, and commercial campgrounds. Camping is a key part of many youth organizations around the world, such as Scouting, which use it to teach both self-reliance and teamwork.
All beaches, seas, mountains, forests, rivers, of this world belong to all of us the mankind. The goal is to teach each other the Love, the Respect and Protection of Nature. For freely travelling with our favorite people, our best friends and our lovers, protecting and cleaning the forests and beaches, enjoying life sometimes without clothing…
GUIDE for free and responsible Camping:
How do we coexist harmoniously with other campers, local residents and nature itself? It is important for campers to learn living together by following, at least, some common rules and habits: We park our cars & bikes away from the beach and we do not obstruct the access to public. We use bags for rubbish, including tissues as animals dig them out. We gather all our rubbish and any extra we find. Wear a plastic bag in your hand in order to make the process less uncomfortable. Determine where the “toilet” is and dig holes at least 30 cm each time or cover them with sand or soil. Instead of toilet paper we use water from the sea in a plastic bottle. We avoid the use of any shampoo and soap, in the water because they pollute the sea, lake or river. We are ready to understand the specific circumstances of the place where we are and to protect it with our presence. We respect the flora and fauna of the region according to the natural conditions. For example, in areas where the sea turtles lay their eggs, the fire can disorient them and their new born, or in areas of dense vegetation fire is very dangerous and forbidden. We have the tent several meters from the waves so we do not obstruct the other campers but mainly not to disturb crabs, turtles, birds. The insects are the residents of the area, we are the guests. We avoid insects with natural repellents, and by keeping the tent zipped closed all day. We do not consider the spot we are staying in as our property, we do not create conditions for permanent settlement. We offer, share, meet each other and create, to the desired extent, conditions of collective living with the other campers. Leave the forest or the beach as found, and if possible, much better.

Hydra - Videos from Greece
Hydra is the most impressive island in the Argo Saronic Gulf. Due to its close distance to Athens, it gets very popular as a summer weekend destination. The town is constructed on the slopes of a hill around a port and impresses visitors at first sight with the elegant stone mansions. The special thing about Hydra island is that cars and other motor vehicles are entirely prohibited in all the island, so all transport is done on foot, by boat or riding the donkey. In fact, the donkeys are very characteristic figures of Hydra Greece. Beaches on the island are actually small coves with crystal water and green surroundings. Source: greeka.com
Iraklia Island...Small Paradise
A tiny island between Naxos and Ios, Iraklia is the perfect place for true relaxation and privacy. Even in summertime, when the neighbouring islands are full of tourists, Iraklia remains secluded and protected from mass tourism. With lovely beaches, hilly landscape and welcoming people, Iraklia island is a paradise. Iraklia has two villages: Panagia, located in the centre of the island, and Agios Georgios, which serves as the main port. Both these villages have traditional architecture.
Iraklia has many beautiful beaches around its coastline. Some of these beaches can be accessed on foot, while others are more remote, so visitors will need to take the excursion boat from the port to go and enjoy some privacy. The most famous and impressive beach on Iraklia is Livadi, a long sandy beach with crystal water on the eastern side of the island.
You can see,
Kastro (castle) of Livadi: These are the remains of a castle of Hellenistic Period (323 b.c-316 b.c.). Also found are the ruins of the temple of Zeus and that of the Goddess of Luck. It was a settlement until 1930
The Bay of Meriha: it is surrounded by cliffs more than a hundred meters high. Birds find natural nests inside the openings in the cliffs.
Papas Hill: from where one can admire the view of all the islands that are around Iraklia. From this point bird-watchers can indulge in their hobby because some rare species of birds can be spotted from here.
The Cave of Agios Ioannis. Its the biggest cave of the Cyclades and one of the best in Greece. Consists of a maze of incredible stalactites, stalagmites, columns and a rare kind of ''cave-milk'' and it takes two and a half hours to explore it. It is situated at a panoramic site with full view of the sea and nearby island.
Alimia beach is located at the south west part of Iraklia and it is a coast of fine sand. Under its transparent green-blue waters a wreck of a German war plane is found which was shot down during the 2nd World War. As such, Alimia beach is the ideal place for snorkeling and underwater explorations.
TRAVEL - EXPLORING THE GREEK CYCLADES
*Additional info*
We started our 4-week vacation with a surprise trip to Cyprus for my father's 60th birthday. He only knew that he and my mother were going on a trip but had no idea what the destination was. He also had no clue that we were on that very same airplane and that my brother and sister-in-law were awaiting us at Cyprus after a 2,5 year period of traveling all over the world.
We spent a week in the most beautiful AirBNB before Laurens and went off to explore the Greek Cyclades.
