It contains a relic, the Moi-e-Muqqadas, believed by many Muslims of Kashmir to be a hair of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad. The name of the shrine comes from the Urdu word Hazrat, meaning respected, and the Kashmiri word bal, meaning place. Thus it means the place which is given high regards and is respected among the people. The shrine is situated on the left bank of the Dal Lake, Srinagar and is considered to be Kashmir's holiest Muslim shrine.

    Diskit Monastery also known as Deskit Gompa or Diskit Gompa is the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, northern India.It belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong Khapa, founder of Gelugpa, in the 14th century. It is a sub-gompa of the Thikse gompa. Lachung Temple and Hundur Monastery are also located nearby, the latter is below the main road near a bridge.The monastery has statue of Cho Rinpoche in the prayer hall, a huge drum and several images of fierce guardian deities.     Charari Sharief is a town and a notified area committee in Budgam district in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, India. The town was given the status of block in January 2014. The town is divided into 10 wards. Each ward has a municipal councillor. The famous mohallas of Charar-i-Sharief are: Talab-e-Kalan or Bada Talab, Trajibal, Court Road, Gulshanabad, Nowhar, Baghi Noor U Din Nowhar, Jabl-e-Noor, Wazabagh, Alamdar colony, Zaloosa and Kumar Mohalla. Charar-i-Sharief is considered one of the most sacrosanct Muslim shrines in India. It is situated approximately 28 km from Srinagar, en route to Yusmarg. The Shrine of Charar-i-Sharief is approximately 600 years old. It is popularly known as the Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali.
