Kinloch is a small but growing town on the most northerly bay of Lake Taupo, 20 kilometres by road northwest of Taupo on the North Island Volcanic Plateau of New Zealand. It is in the Waikato Region. Originally a sheep station, Kinloch later developed as a holiday destination with baches being built next to the lake. The town itself was laid out in 1962 by Prime Minister of New Zealand Keith Holyoake.Kinloch has a mixture of permanent residents and holiday makers.
