Disturbing Le Bourget

Le Bourget is a town right outside Paris, France. Our main airport used to be there but it was rendered obsolete long ago, being too small, and it is used only now for private jets, some freight and military stuff.
There is a museum there open to the public year round, the musuem of the science of flight and space and stuff, sorry I am getting the name wrong.
Okay, here is my beef: every two years they do an expo there. Yeah yeah yeah I know it is business. But it is basically the military industrial complex and I am against that.
BTW Wright-Patterson AFB is on land in Ohio seized from my family about a century ago, and I am a kissin' cousin of Patterson.
Finey fine.
What I don't like is that every two years we the locals here in the region have to put up with this scary stuff! The noise is intolerable! It also screws up traffic, cuz people rubberneck. My spouse took off this week, he didn't even want to try to carpool with his coworker to his job at Roissy CDG Airport during this mess. It is quite terrifying, I assure you, to see these weird planes doing dives all around you! Last week as they were prepping the show I was in a business meeting near CDG Roissy Airport and we were nearly blown out of our chairs by this noise. We looked out the window and there was this huge freaky fighter jet followed by a little MIG type fighter jet and we hated it! I mean, this is just crap, people! What, we need drones to spy on people and to bomb them, too?
I guess I am becoming more Luddite than ever. I have a simple Amish-type background and frankly I know how to trim goat hooves, and care for a horse and how to deal with a donkey and we are often better off that way!
These blue skies you see here are very rare for Paris, and it is very cool these days and we are getting rain most mornings which is kinda okay with me cuz I hate heat and we had drought in the spring this year. I assure you, the hardy heirloom fruit trees in this region are doing just fine thank you. There are a lot of small farms, orchards and lettuce farms around here. We produce a lotta our food right here in Paris, France -- thus it has always been. A couple of weeks ago I saw a small local farm which uses ancient tools and they are doing just fine, the drought did not bother them too much, as they only plant hardy local stuff.
Can you imagine the pollution from these jets and stuff? Do you know how much radiation you get when you take a jet flight, and how bad it is for the environment?
So, call me a cranky square, that is okay by me. Actually this region is packed with great touristic sights, the good stuff is not generally in Paris central but more in regions around Paris, and there is a book which came out in English about 15 years ago by a woman who writes about all the cool stuff you can see from Paris via public transportation and you have to spend no more than 60 minutes to get there. We are talking Abbeys, castles, the whole nine yards. I have nothing against central Paris but you do not start to get a feel for the Paris region until you get away from the center a bit. High on my list of places to visit is Ecouen, where there is this amazing castle with just about the best Medieval Arts collection in it in the whole world. You cannot even touch this stuff by going to the Cluny Museum in Paris, I am sorry! You might have to take a taxi there and back, 'tis true. I can help you get a private guide. There is an amazing restaurant there. Another good one is the Condé castle in Chantilly and you can get there from Paris via commuter train and free shuttle bus and stay in Senlis, which is the loveliest fortified medieval city in France or something, your head will blow off! I know a castle there you can stay in and it is not costly and they have a great restaurant! Shopping supreme and people ride their horses into town and tie them up outside of pubs and you have all these parks and forests around with swans and all and you just go nuts, it is so lovely. There are also very costly places here such as Vaux le Cernay and if you got the bread, fine, go for it, but if you are on a budget you can do so much here. I am American born but French now and I just love it here.
I hope you enjoy this and the mood is a tad negative in this vid but I have been very sick with a lingering cold and have various fish to fry. But I love sharing with you, this is truly a wonderful place and you should come visit. I have a ton of vids up on my two channels here and on Dailymotion I am LisaFalour. Consider spending a full three months here, why not? Your life will never be the same, you will learn a lot. Peace out!
