The casino Grand-Cercle is a casino located in France in the municipality of Aix-les-Bains , in the department of Savoie in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It is located in the Palais de Savoie, which is a major architectural complex in Savoie , as well as the casino of Evian-les-Bains , a building also testifying to the desire of the House of Savoy to be among the major princely European families. The place is registered and classified as historical monuments
The Grand-Cercle Casino was inaugurated by King Victor Emmanuel II of Savoy in 1850 to reinforce the playful aspect of the spa town and thus attract high society and European artists to Savoie . The building inaugurated by the king was built by a Chamberly architect Charles-Bernard Pellegrini. The building at the time included in its central part a ballroom flanked by two lounges, one for the game, the other for reading and correspondence. Thirty years later, the Casino is expanding and expanding with two side pavilions. In 1899 , the building acquired a theater with 900 seats, equipped with wooden machinery. Four works by the painter Di Credico have been placed in the traditional games room (ball, roulette, blackjack ...).
On August 28, 1914, the Casinos administration made available to the Municipal Coordinating Committee, the Grand-Cercle Institution and the Villa des Fleurs in order to receive war wounded from the First World War.. During the night of September 12th to 13th, 1914, 85 wounded were also conveyed there. On the same day, the Grand Cercle ambulance improvised 200 additional beds in the games room and in the halls of the Café and the theater. In the small room against the bridge room and the northwestern gallery, two operating theaters are installed. In the spring of 1915, although the war continued, the fact remains that life in the back has resumed. Thus at the end of May, the mayor of the city officially makes a request to the authorities to be able to liberate the Grand-Circle of Aix-les-Bains, which has become since the beginning of the war what has been commonly called the Hospital depot. of convalescents.
The first magistrate of the city exposes that: At the moment when Savoy opens, it is absolutely necessary for us to give our visitors and bathers the maximum possible amenities. After examining the request, the evacuation of the Grand-Cercle building began on November 12 and ended on January 15, 1916. The following year, some hotels were also released and allowed the reception of curists.

The Ardèche (Occitan: Ardecha) is a 125-kilometre (78 mi) long river in south-central France, a right-bank tributary of the River Rhône. Its source is in the Massif Central, near the village of Astet. It flows into the Rhône near Pont-Saint-Esprit, north-west of Orange. The river gives its name to the French department of Ardèche.
The valley of the Ardèche is very scenic, in particular a 30-kilometre (19 mi) section known as the Ardèche Gorges. The walls of the river here are limestone cliffs up to 300 metres (980 ft) high. A kayak and camping trip down the gorge is not technically difficult and is very popular in the summer. The most famous feature is a natural 60-metre (200 ft) stone arch spanning the river known as the Pont d'Arc (arch bridge).

Famiglia VARCA | Ancient Acqua Solforosa Spa, Sclafani Bagni, Sicily | 19 June 2011
Sicily's best kept secret. [ ]
Happy*Father's Day to all from the beautiful, ancient healing holy waters of the Ancient Acqua Solforosa Spa, in Sclafani Bagni, Sicily. A stunning early evening we share with you on this most beautiful day in Sclafani. Conte*Marco taking therapy in the spa. We thank God for this opportunity to be blessed in this holly place where few have and can be. To all of the father's of famiglia VARCA we wish you to also be blessed with an opportunity to visit our forefather's ancient lands.
History of the healing holy waters (acqua solforosa) of Sclafani Bagni and use in Crenotherapy:
In all of Sicily's Parco Regionale delle Madonie the acqua solforosa thermal springs only exist in Sclafani (renamed Sclafani Bagni in 1953) which is located downstream of the mountain top village (402 meters above sea level). The baths of Sclafani Bagni were built circa 1847 by the Duke of Bivona of the Duke of Fernandina famiglia, albeit, these healing holly waters have flowed up from the center of the earth for a millennium, by the hand of God.
On 19 March 1851, a landslide severely damaged the sites buildings and baths structures, which were rebuilt and are what stands today. The documented, healing properties of the water date thirteenth century. The thermo-sulfo-bromo-iodine water's healing properties have been scientifically certified thru analysis by experts in the field of geological, hydro geological and pharmaceuticals. The water flows at 36 ° from the western slopes of Sclafani Bagni where under lies the main source. SEAS is conducting surveys to determine the amount of flow and total reserves. The water is excellent for Crenotherapy, as it contains no ammonia, nitrates and or phosphates.
The Dukedom of Fernandina (Ducado de Fernandina) is a hereditary ducal title in the Spanish nobility. It was granted by King Philip II to García Álvarez de Toledo y Osorio, Viceroy of Sicily and Catalonia, and later Marquis of Villafranca del Bierzo in inheritance from his elder brother. It was conferred on him the 24 December 1559, along with the Princedom of Montalbán.
The title was usually held by the heirs apparent of the Marquises of Villafranca, and merged into the House of Medina Sidonia in 1779 when José Álvarez de Toledo, 11th Marquis of Villafranca and 8th Duke of Fernandina inherited the Dukedom of Medina Sidonia from a distant cousin. After the death 12th Duke, José Joaquín Álvarez de Toledo, none of his sons claimed the title, so the Dukedom of Fernandina became dormant. 80 years later, the 21st Duchess of Medina Sidonia and her son the Count of Niebla ceded their rights to the title to their daughter and sister, Pilar González de Gregorio, who asked for the resumption of the dormant dukedom. On 1 February 1993, the title was restored with Grandeeship of Spain by King Juan Carlos I to Pilar, who became the 13th Duchess of Fernandina and is the current holder of the title.
