    The Dawes Arboretum is a non-profit arboretum located 30 miles east of Columbus in Newark, Ohio. The Dawes Arboretum has nearly 2,000 acres of plant collections, gardens and natural areas. The site includes twelve miles of hiking trails and a four-mile auto tour. Founded in 1929 by Beman and Bertie Dawes, the Dawes Arboretum is dedicated to increasing knowledge of trees, arboreal history and the natural world. Today, the Arboretum continues its founders mission through education, conservation, research and maintaining plant collections. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

    Silver Lake State Park is a public recreation area covering 2,936 acres bordering Lake Michigan and Silver Lake near Mears in Oceana County, Michigan. The state park is composed of mature forest land and over 2,000 acres of sand dunes. The park is 1.5 miles wide and 3 miles long and is divided into three segments: The northern area is an all-terrain vehicle dunes area where private motorized vehicle may be driven, the middle of the park is a non-vehicle area , and the southernmost section is leased to a private operator. The park grounds include the Little Sable Point Light on Lake Michigan and one mile of shoreline on 690-acre Silver Lake.

    Indian Lake is a reservoir in Logan County, western Ohio, in the United States. It is approximately 20 mi southeast of Lima. It is fed by the north and south forks of the Upper Great Miami River, Cherokee Mans Run, Blackhawk Creek, and Van Horn Creek, and, starting at the bulkhead or spillway built in the 1850s by Irish laborers, is the beginning of the Great Miami River. At 5,104 acres, Indian Lake is the second largest inland lake in Ohio. Indian Lake, so named by European-American settlers because several tribes lived in the region and found the Lake area to be ideal for fishing and hunting, was originally a group of small lakes and wetlands occupying about 640 acres acres.
