1200 years old Ranganathaswamy Temple, Magadi, Karnataka
A very ancient temple built by the Chaukyas and later improved by the founder of Bangalore - Kempe Gowda, is found close to Bangalore at Magadi.
It is said that VISHNU appeared to Sage Mandovi as a Swamaybhu Saligrama in the shape of Kurma (tortoise ).
Right behind this is a beautiful statue of Venkateshwara.
Behind structure is a Ranganthaswamy idol on the rock which is believed to be growing to this day! It is also called Beleyo Ranga in Kannada as the idol here keeps growing.
Also this is the only temple where Sri. Lakshmi is placed opposite to Sri Venkateshwara.
There's also a lovely idol of Ranganayaki.

SAVANDURGA HILLS || Place to visit near Bangalore || Canon 200D
Savandurga is a hill located in Ramnagara District (Karnataka, India) 60 km west of Bengaluru off the Magadi road 12.919654°N 77.292881°E, in India. The hill is considered to be among the largest monolith hills in Asia.[1] The hill rises to 1227 m above mean sea level and forms a part of the Deccan plateau. It consists of peninsular gneiss, granites, basic dykes and laterites. The Arkavathi river passes nearby through the Thippagondanahalli reservoir and on towards Manchanabele dam.
Savandurga is formed by two hills known locally as Karigudda (black hill) and Biligudda (white hill). The earliest record of the name of the hill is from 1340 AD by Hoysala Ballala III from Madabalu where it is called Savandi. Another view is that the name is originated from Samantadurga attributed to a Samantharaya, a governor under Ahchutaraya at Magadi, although there is no inscription confirming this. This was the secondary capital of the Magadi rulers such as Kempegowda. From 1638 to 1728, Mysore took over this place and Dalavayi Devaraja occupied this place with the palace at Nelapattana. In 1791 Lord Cornwallis captured it from Tipu Sultan's forces during the Third Anglo-Mysore War.[2][3] Robert Home in his Select views in Mysore (1794) shows distant views of the hill from Bangalore.[4] He called it Savinadurga or the fort of death. There were no steps to reach the hill top and it was covered by bamboos and other trees forming a barricade.

Thottikallu is a place near Bangalore off the Kanakapura road which is famous for a falls called Thottikallu falls, more popularly known as TK falls. It is also known as 'SwarnaMukhi' water falls. SwarnaMukhi translates as 'Golden-Faced'. The route at Kagalpura (Kaggalipura) off the Bangalore - Kanakapura road will lead to a place called Byalemaradadoddi, from where a mud road leads to the falls. The place also has a small shrine.
There will not be much water in summer and hence better to visit in or just after monsoon.
The place is about one hour from Kempegowda Bus Terminal. The falls is a few km further away from the Art of Living Ashram.
This venue is a great place to for trekking and mountain hiking and just to a spend your day away from hustle and bustle of the city. It is preferable that you go to this place in two wheeler because the roads become very narrow when you are almost nearing the place. There is also a parking charge for 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers just outside the shrine, you have to park your vehicle and then start walking towards the falls
Now a lots of residential projects are coming up near TK falls. This falls is slowly gaining interest in South Bangalore. A lot of biking expeditions are conducted to this place. little away from Bangalore one can enjoy greenery..
This place is also littered with alcohol bottles and gutka packets. Visitors must take care and keep the place clean.

Vidhana Soudha: Largest Legislative Building in India | Timings, Entry Fees and the Story Behind
Vidhana Soudha Bangalore is the largest Legislature and office building in India. It is truly a secular edifice, showing features of British, Dravidian, and Indo-Islamic architecture.
The Vidhana Soudha located on Dr Ambedkar Rd, Seshadripuram, Bengaluru, just opposite to The High Court of Karnataka. It is the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka. K. Hanumanthaiya, who was Chief Minister of the then Mysore from 1951 to 1956, will be long remembered in the annals of the History of the State for his administration and achievements built this imposing edifice.
Hanumanthaiya wanted Vidhana Soudha to symbolise the legislative sovereignty of the people like the capital in Washington or The House of Commons in London. Then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharalal Nehru laid the foundation on 13th July 1951. It was completed in the year 1956. About 5000 labourers worked on the project. Entire cost of the project was Rs 1.85 crore.
It is built largely with Bangalore granite, excavated from the areas around Mallasandra and Hessaraghatta. For visual effect and relief, Magadi pink and Turuvekere black stones have also been used.
Marvel of neo-Dravidian architecture and one of the most imposing building not only in Bangalore but in India. One of the interesting feature of this building in grand stairs in its front. The grand stairs have a flight of forty-five steps 204 feet wide 70 feet deep giving a direct access to the first floor leading to an Assembly Chamber.
The Vidhana Soudha has four floors above and one floor below ground level and sprawls across an area of 2,300 by 1,150 feet.
The Vidhana Soudha has three main floors. Its overall length is 700 feet, width is 350 feet and height is 150 feet. The building's central dome is sixty feet in diameter and is supported by eight pillars. It also has six smaller domes, four in front and two behind.
The building is illuminated on Sundays and public holidays.
