Rawla Narlai - Rajasthan
Rawla Narlai is situated midway between Udaipur and Jodhpur. Rawlas are basically heritage homes of the village chieftain. It is an ancient 17th century fort and belongs to the royal family of Jodhpur. Rawla Narlai's closeness to the dense woodlands in its close vicinity makes it a perfect hunting lodge. Now, this glorious colossal fort, resplendent in bustling colors, is refurbished and renovated by Maharaja Swaroop Singhji into a famous heritage hotel of Jodhpur.
This is a luxurious hideaway and brings back the old-world charm in a spectrum of luxurious comforts and conventional amenities.

Chandelao Garh near Jodhpur, Rajasthan
When we went to Rajasthan some while back we didn't want to stay in Jodhpur but decided to go to a hotel little bit away from the big city. We went to Chandelao Garh - a rural noble man's traditional hundreds of years old house converted into a heritage hotel. Very hospitable owner and great service, and fantastique surroundings - we will definitely come again, one day! ;-)
