Nordhausen is a city in Thuringia, Germany. It is the capital of the Nordhausen district and the urban centre of northern Thuringia and the southern Harz region; its population is 42,000. Nordhausen is located approximately 60 km north of Erfurt, 80 km west of Halle, 85 km south of Braunschweig and 60 km east of Göttingen. The Edersee Dam is a hydroelectric dam spanning the Eder river in northern Hesse, Germany. Constructed between 1908 and 1914, it lies near the small town of Waldeck at the northern edge of the Kellerwald. Breached by Allied bombs during World War II, it was rebuilt during the war, and today generates hydroelectric power and regulates water levels for shipping on the Weser river. At low water in late summers of dry years the remnants of three villages and a bridge across the original river bed submerged when the lake was filled in 1914 can be seen. Descendants of those buried there go to visit the graves of their ancestors.

Bochum is a city in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and part of the Arnsberg region. Bochum is located in the Ruhr area and is surrounded by the cities of Herne, Castrop-Rauxel, Dortmund, Witten, Hattingen, Essen and Gelsenkirchen.

The city lies on the low rolling hills of Bochum land ridge (Bochumer Landrücken), part of the Ruhrhöhen (highest elevations) between the Ruhr and Emscher rivers at the border of the southern and northern Ruhr coal region. The highest point of the city is at Kemnader Straße (Kemnader Street) in Stiepel at 196 metres above sea level; the lowest point is 43 metres at the Blumenkamp in Hordel.

Bochum is connected to the Autobahn network by the A 40, A 43 and A 44 autobahns. In addition, Bochum has a ring road, built to expressway standards, consisting of four segments; the Donezk, Oviedo, Nordhausen and Sheffield-Ring roads. It serves as a three-quarter loop around central Bochum and begins and ends at Autobahn A40. Bochum has a central station situated on the line from Duisburg to Dortmund, connecting the city to the long-distance network of Deutsche Bahn as well as to the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn network. Local service is supplied mainly by BOGESTRA, a joint venture handling transportation between the cities of Bochum and Gelsenkirchen. The Bochum Stadtbahn is a single underground line connecting the University of Bochum to Herne, and the Bochum/Gelsenkirchen tramway network is made up of several lines. As one of the few Ruhr area cities, Bochum is not directly connected with the German waterway net; the closest link is in the more northern located Herne at the Rhine-Herne Canal.

Nordhausen/Harz im Freistaat Thüringen, das Video nimmt Sie mit auf einen Stadtrundgang (Doku). #Nordhausen liegt im Norden von Thüringen an der Zorge, am Südrand des Harzes und im Nordwesten der fruchtbaren Goldenen Aue. In der Stadt wird schon seit ca. 500 Jahren Korn gebrannt.
Nordhausen hat ca. 50.000 Einwohner u. ist ein bedeutender Industriestandort, sowie Hochschulstadt. Im Osten der Stadt wurde das Industriegebiet Goldene Aue erschlossen, welches Anschluss an die Bundesautobahn A 38 hat.
Neben der Zorge, liegt Nordhausen an den Flüssen Helme und Salza.
Wichtige Sehenswürdigkeiten sind die historische Altstadt und der Dom, sowie die Harzer Schmalspurbahn, eine Dampfeisenbahn.
Bekannt ist Nordhausen f. den Nordhäuser Korn.
Wichtige Industrieunternehmen sind der Schachtbau Nordhausen, Nordbrand Nordhausen, sowie die Firma Powertrain, ein Hersteller von Kurbelwellen.
Nordhausen hat ein traditionsreiches Stadttheater, welches im Jahre 1917 errichtet wurde.
Nordhausen ist bekannt f. seinen Branntwein welcher bereits seit 1507 erwähnt wird. Auch die bekannten #ReformatorenMartinLuther und Thomas Müntzer wirken zeitweise in Nordhausen.
Nordhausen hat 2 grosse Shoppingcenter die Südharzgalerie und die Echte Nordhäuser Marktpassage. Westlich der Stadt befindet sich das neu erschlossene Industriegebiet Goldene Aue.
Hier sollen sich auf gr. Industriegrundstücken, moderne Industriebetriebe ansiedeln.
Tourismuskonzept Nordhausen
Die Stadt Nordhausen verfügt über ein Stadttheater, ein Kino und mehrere Museen. Die Stadt verfügt über ein modernes Krankenhaus, das Südharzklinikum, welches im Norden v. Nordhausen liegt. Im 2015 fertig gestellten Industriegebiet Goldene Aue - sollen sich moderne Industriebetriebe ansiedeln.
Die Stadt verfügt noch ü. eine Strassenbahn.
Das wichtigste Volksfest ist das jährlich statt findende Rolandfest u. d. Altstadtfest.
Bei Nordhausen liegen sehr klare Kiesgewässer, in welchen man sehr gut tauchen kann, Taucher aus ganz Europa schätzen diese Wasserqualität und Klarheit der Taugewässer.
Bekannt ist die Stadt auch für die Fussballmannschaft Wacker Nordhausen. Nordhausen gehört zum Bund der Lutherstädte, Städte an welchen Martin Luther gewirkt hat.

Nordhausen was first mentioned in the year 927 and became one of the most important cities in central Germany during the later Middle Ages. In the early 13th century, it became a free imperial city, so that it was an independent and republican self-ruled member of the Holy Roman Empire. Due to its long-distance trade, Nordhausen was prosperous and influential with a population of 8,000 around 1500, that was the third-largest in Thuringia after Erfurt, today's capital, and Mühlhausen, the other free imperial city in the Land. Later, World War II brought much harm to Nordhausen: in the nearby KZ Mittelbau-Dora 60,000 forced labourers had to work in the arms industry, where 20,000 of them died because of the bad conditions and in April 1945, most of the city was destroyed by Royal Air Force bombings with 8,800 casualties (more than 20% of the population) and the loss of most of the historic buildings, which made it the most destroyed city in Thuringia in WW II. Nordhausen is the birthplace of the famous mathematician Oswald Teichmüller, born 18 June 1913, died 11 September 1943, known for his groundbreaking work on the spaces named after him.
Nordhausen was once known for its tobacco industry and is still known for its distilled spirit, Nordhäuser Doppelkorn. Furthermore, it hosts the Fachhochschule Nordhausen with 2,500 students and is a starting point of the Harz Narrow Gauge Railways, which are intensely frequented by tourists traveling through the Harz mountains.
The city is situated at Zorge river, a tributary of the Helme river within the fertile region of Goldene Aue (golden floodplain) at the southern edge of the Harz mountains.
