Orroli, meaning downy oak is, a comune in the Province of South Sardinia in the Italian region of Sardinia, located about 67.4 kilometres north of Cagliari. As of 31 December 2010, it had a population of 2,430 and an area of 75.6 square kilometres . Orroli territory hosts one of the most important nuraghi of Sardinia called Nuraghe Arrubiu, the only intact example of a five-tower nuraghe, one of the dam in the Flumendosa river and the dam of the Mulargia, which gave name to the artificial lake.     The nuraghe is the main type of ancient megalithic edifice found in Sardinia, developed during the Nuragic Age between 1900 and 730 BCE. Today it has come to be the symbol of Sardinia and its distinctive culture, the Nuragic civilization. More than 7000 nuraghes have been found, though archeologists believe that originally there were more than 10,000.

    Su Nuraxi is a nuragic archaeological site in Barumini, Sardinia, Italy. Su Nuraxi simply means The Nuraghe in Campidanese, the southern variant of the Sardinian language. Su Nuraxi is a settlement consisting of a seventeenth century BCE Nuraghe, a bastion of four corner towers plus a central one, and a village inhabited from the thirteenth to the sixth century BCE, developed around the Nuraghe. They are considered by scholars the most impressive expression of the Nuragic civilization and were included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997 as Su Nuraxi di Barumini.
