THE FRIGHTENING JAPANESE TUNNEL
This hair-raising tunnel was built in June 1944 by Japanese army as a form of defenses. This Japanese tunnel or Lobang Jepang is up to 8 km long making it the longest tunnel in Asia. Also, it was said that, this tunnel was used by Japanese army to torture and kill prisoners during World War II. The story tells about 10 siblings, Kukuban, Kudun, Bayua, Malintang, Galapuang, Balok, Batang, Bayang, Kaciak and their one and only female sibling also the youngest, Sani. Sani fell in love with a guy named Giran and their love was averted by Sani’s brother. Sani and Giran were thrown into the crater of the volcano and it turned into a beautiful lake by the power of their love, which is now known as Maninjau Lake.
