Peñafiel is a town in the Valladolid Province and the greater autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is best known for the Peñafiel Castle and for its medieval square used for bullfights and named Plaza del Coso . The square is surrounded by private homes, but since medieval times the rights to use their windows, balconies and doorways during bullfights are owned by the town , which auctions them to the highest bidders. The town is full of deep excavated underground caves which were traditionally used to store the wine because of the constant temperature they kept all year around.     Escalona is a municipality located in the north part of the province of Toledo, which in turn is part of the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha, Spain. According to the 2017 census , the municipality has a population of 3,240 inhabitants, most of whom are settled in several housing estates such as Ribera del Alberche, Miragredos or Castillo de Escalona. The town is settled alongside the right side of the river Alberche, in the comarca of Torrijos, which is a part of the historical region of New Castile.     The Plaza del Coso is an urban plaza in the locality of Peñafiel, in Valladolid Province, in the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. During the year it serves as a bullring during the Festival of San Roque in August, and provides a place for the Descent of the Angel Festival , on Resurrection Sunday. The square is commonly known as Corro or Corro of the Bulls, and has been documented as existing since the Middle Ages. The square is surrounded by 48 buildings, is accessed by two streets, and has an area of 3,500 m2. The balconies of the plaza are lintelled, and were built between the 18th and 19th centuries. The balconies are made from wood, and decorated with arabesque The balconies have been used since their creation to watch the shows.
