Originally a fishing village, Praia da Mira has become an increasingly popular holiday destination. Fishing continues to be the main activity here, using the traditional, brightly coloured boats with their long, curved bows, although tractors have now replaced the ox that were originally used for pulling in the nets. A few examples still remain of the typical fishermen’s wooden houses known as “palheiros”, although these are now interspersed with the cafés and restaurants that have sprung up to cater for the visitors who seek the gastronomic speciality that is, naturally, fresh fish.
The back of this fishing village gives on to a natural freshwater lagoon called the Barrinha. The differing landscape in the short distance that separates the coastal village from the inland town is remarkable: it progresses from the forceful waves of the Atlantic sea and the wide expanse of sand dunes to the lagoon and pine forests surrounding the town.

Passadiços do Rio Paiva | River Paiva Walkways
Paiva Walkways are located on the left bank of the Paiva River, in Arouca municipality, Aveiro, Portugal. They are 8 km that provide a walk untouched, surrounded by unique beauty of landscapes, in an authentic natural sanctuary along the brave waters downhills, quartz crystals and endangered species in Europe. The route extends from the river beaches of Areinho and Espiunca, lying between them, the Vau beach. A journey through biology, geology and archeology that will remain, of course, in heart, soul and in mind of any nature lover. This area is labeled as Geopark, recognised by UNESCO as a Geological Heritage of Humanity.

Hiking One of Portugal's Seven Wonders, Grutas De Mira De Aire | misscamco
These caves were discovered in 1947. The entrance is 300m in altitude, but inside they reach 180m in depth. Their formation goes back 150 million years to the Middle Jurassic age, when the dinosaurs populated this region. Their footprints can be seen here today.
The caves are lit with coloured lights that emphasise the beauty of the shapes of the stalagmites and stalagtites. During the tour, your guide will draw your attention to the strange limestone shapes, formed over millions of years, such as the Jellyfish, the Martian and the magnificent Organ. The Black River descends in a waterfall to the Great Lake, where the magical sound and light show takes place.
The lighting, steps, stepping-stones, a lift and the background music make the descent to this hidden world into an unforgettable experience.

As you may know Portugal is trending lately, and increasing its tourism. It is a beautiful country and fantastic place to spend your holidays, Portugal is in the Iberian Peninsula and has a vast coast filled with beaches. It´s also a very sunny and warm country.

The Pena National Palace is a Romanticist palace located in Sintra, Portugal. The palace stands on the top of a hill above the town of Sintra, and on a clear day it can be easily seen from Lisbon and much of its metropolitan area. It is a national monument and constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal.
