Evora miasto w Portugalii, Niedziela 10 lipca 2016 r.
wszystkie informacje na podstawie
Évora – miasto w Portugalii, w dystrykcie Évora, historyczna stolica regionu Alentejo w podregionie Alentejo Central.
Współcześnie mieszka tu 50 tys. mieszkańców, a więc dwukrotnie mniej niż w średniowieczu.
Franciszka (Igreja de São Francisco) i przylegająca do niego Capela dos Ossos – kaplica kości.
Moledo Beach and Insua Fort aerial view - Caminha
Moledo Beach, on the northern end, close to the border to Spain just beside the river Minho, a lovely sandy beach, is distinguished mainly by its beautiful landscape.
The dunes are protected from wooden walkways which combine with the landscape of the mountains that extends into the horizon.
Insua Fort is located on a small island on the extreme northern Portugal guarding the River Minho which borders Portugal and Spain.
A Monastery was founded in 1392 by franciscans in the island over a pre-existent small ermitage. Place of cult, the island was visited by King D. Manuel I after amplification of the monastery. Several wars with Spain and invasions from corsaries obliged the construction of the existing fortress, between 1649 and 1652. Its construction was ordered by D. Diogo de Lima.
A well for drinking water supplied the garrison, consisting of a Governor (Commander) and twelve squares, alternating weekly. This well is notable for is at sea, being one of only three in the world.
At 40 seconds we can see a sunken ship...

Nossa Senhora da Graça Fort or Lippe Fort It is a jewel of military architecture, rising upon the north hill of the city. Located in a high spot, this fort was occupied by Spanish artillery during Linhas de Elvas battle in 659. It has four bastions, four ravelins and several gaps, so that its canons could beat the enemies as they approached.
Graça Fort is constituted by three defensive lines, including in its interior several dependencies such as barracks, chapel, bunkers, the governor house, a big cistern, cannons, among many others.
Important part of the Elvas defensive strategy, a town that since early times has been an important strategically defensive point, the Graça Fort was built in the place where before was located the ancient Santa Maria da Graça Chapel. The Fort is classified as

Guimarães Castle - Ducal Palace aerial view
Guimarães is one of the country's most historic cities, and its World Heritage medieval streets with well-preserved monuments make it one of the most attractive places to visit in Portugal.
The imposing medieval castle Guimaraes Castle with eight crenellated towers 28m (92ft) high, was built in the 10th century to protect the population from attacks by the Moors and the Normans. It was then extended to its present size in the 12th century by Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal, who was baptized in the small Romanesque chapel next to the castle.
The Dukes of Bragança Palace, was built in the 15th century as a medieval palace, with 39 unusual brick chimneys showing strong Northern European influence.
Inside is an impressive banqueting hall with a splendid wooden ceiling, and an extensive collection of portraits, furniture, carpets, and porcelain dating mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries.
